I'm happy you're gone. I've always hated you

the light I hate to Love

look at that cockeyed pocket clip, it works great on my hat
look at that marred anodyzing, Im supposed to be gaga for copper
look at that NW Low CRI, Low R9 LED, Im supposed to be a Tint and CRI snob
look at that AssPherIc lens, everyone hates it, but I love it
let me tell you about the terrible UI, I have to hold to turn it off

yet, I sold my Copper Olight S Mini, that has no battery check
sold my Olight S1 Mini High CRI, that has low R9 and too narrow a beam for my headlamp use
I could buy a Ti Olight S Mini, and end up with Low R9, Low CRI, no battery check and too narrow a beam. I dont need to suffer any more today, so my wallet is happy

I dont know what happened, but I seem to care less and less about all those super snobby details like tint, CRI, Noble Metals, and Hot spots

the Utorch S1 Mini NW showed me that “it does not matter in actual use”, any light is better than NoLight

now about those can openers, mine works fine, dont need no stinkin P38, in fact I mostly buy cans that pull open without need for a tool

and lime squeezers, no press and spin for me, the Mexican LimeSquashers work the best, even though they suck for oranges!

writing and mailing checks!

i use the electronic BillPayer thingy at the credit union now for EVERYTHING!

and no i do not let the power and water companies take the money out

they send a bill and i send the money in about 10 seconds

wle

Funny… My first thought was about something else named P38.
Built by Walther.
I Didn’t even know about those military issued can openers.

But when stuff really pi$$es me off, I’m more the sledgehammer guy.

Really appreciate the info, thanks for the push to get me moving on new cells!
Checking online reviews is a great convenience I already take advantage of. It’s also a must nowadays with all the junk being made and sold!

Jon, the mexican lime squashers are ok as long as you don’t get one made poorly. I don’t know if mine was made in china, but it was certainly heavy and broke when I squeezed on it one day not a year after I purchased it.

Yours looks much more robust than mine, it looks like even if it broke the rivet would be easily replaced.

Great excuse to get one of these!

(59 lemons / on turbo)

I have one, it’s awesome!

Throw it in the Ghia head out to the flea market and set up a Lemon Shakes business!

I HATE  my malfunctioning Cuisinart DBM-8 Burr Mill coffee grinder, but I couldn’t live without it!

I’m to lazy to fix the broken safety switch so I gotta hard slam the grinds chamber every morning to get it to work.

You’re welcome. Enjoy and be safe!

Those old VW motors are bullet-proof.

As Grandpa used to say about things that were durable: “You can’t kill it with a stick”

The Karmann Ghia was a semi automatic so technically I had only a half a stick . It was cool but a serious bondo beast .

OK how about white spiral light bulbs in a kelvin range that even God doesn’t like …that won’t seem to die .

I’m nearing the end of 3 year lease of the Fiat 500e, full EV. I hate it with a passion.
Just turned in the Chevy Spark EV; that thing runs rings around the 500e, 4 doors, cheaper
to lease, cheaper to insure, more rear seat rooms, more trunk.

Waiting for a cheap lease deal on the Bolt…

At work today, a colleague of dubious character and integrity was escorted from site by security. No reason given.
Happy day!

Hope this isn’t too off topic!

Hope he doesn’t return w/o escort!!

Our hand crank can opener finally stopped working after getting progressively worse over the past couple of months. At the end I would come home to partially opened cans of tuna and chicken. It got to the point were I would have to seriously lean into it to make it budge. Glad to see it go. I have this one now after doing some google research. Couldn’t be happier and if it works for a year, then great. Took 2 days to get here with a Prime trial membership

Hope he stays out.

Ah, yes. My old Casio calculator.

I was always a Texas Instruments man, since I was about ten years old and bought my first scientific calculator. That trusty original-version TI-34 lasted right through high school, university and my first job.

Unfortunately, I had to buy a Casio because my TI finally started malfunctioning and I literally couldn’t find anything else. I had the Casio for a decent length of time, but just couldn’t come to terms with the way it did things, or the tiny little buttons. I kept making mistakes.

One night, I was working late on a rush assignment for a demo we were going to do a couple of days later, and tried to calculate some performance estimates. Mistakes all the way. Again.

I hurled that little sod of a machine straight out my open office door and quietly smiled to myself as I listened to the three bounces and assorted smashing noises. Then I fired up a spreadsheet for the calculations, finished the job and went home to shave and eat breakfast before coming back to help my project manager integrate my code into the demo.

In the meantime, my colleagues found the remnants of the Casio - and the dent in the wall - as they came into work. Yep: I hadn’t cleaned up the wreckage and the office had a new Phlogiston story.

A few days later, I was the proud owner of some new TI calculators from EBay. I have never been so much as tempted to hurl a calculator since

I still bought spares, though, to keep Casio out of my life for as long as possible. Lesson learned.

That said, I hope my TI stash lasts a long time, because I really don’t like their modern product lines. I just want a sensible, single-line, solar-powered LCD scientific calculator with some engineering extras. No multi-line displays, no equations, no graphics, no fancy frippery. Yet no one seems to do that anymore.

Meh.

Darn it, those kids are on my lawn again!

I think running over your calculator with the lawn mower might give the kids second thoughts about hanging out in your yard.

The uncontrollable giggling would definitely do the job.

I now envisage a new YouTube video series: “Will It Mow?”

[With apologies to “Will It Blend?” ]

P38 … A Range Rover top open cans?

I am a retired old individual, but still use the HP-11C I bought in 1983-1984.
Before that I had a HP-41C expanded with a statistical program block. But it was way beyond (my skills).
Luckily could sell it without a loss.
