Can anyone tell me ? (solved)

Lately I took delivery of this usb charger.

On its back are 4 usb-out charging port, and a type-C female port.

I know the 4 usb ports are ‘voltage out’ ports to charge a 5v device.

However, the I cannot understand what is the purpose of the type-C female INPUT port?

I know one of my phones now has a type-C INPUT connector (currently used in more smartphones, moving away from the usual micro-usb) when I want to charge it from a USB connector charger.

(for more information of this charger: https://www.gearbest.com/plugs-sockets/pp_624368.html?wid=1433363 )

I know USB-C is rated for higher currents, that might be a reason

EDIT;
i see qualcomm quickcharge 3.0

I am aware of the type-C are for higher currents, but as an input port? …. while the rest are 4 usb out ports. including the QC 3.0 out.

My OnePlus 5T has Dash Charging (high current) type-C INPUT port at the bottom. The OEM cable used of course has the type-C input (connected to the phone) and on the other end of that cable is a USB connector, connected to its special high-current adaptor/charger.

but the subject of this thread is: The type-C connector—- what is it used for?..

Yes, if it wouldn’t have it, it will just act as a hub

Looks like a USB-C output to me from what I read on Amazon— My tablet charging cable has C” on both ends

I believe you are correct….just Googled and indeed there is a new cable (type-C to type-C) on both ends for fast charging capability. Anker has it.

In other words, if my OEM cable eventually fails, this Anker type-C to type-C unit used with my Tutuo charger can do the job, though I am very surprised to see that now they making same end charging cables.

My Google Nexus 6P charger has it already for over 2 years :wink: (USB-C on both ends)
