6. Batch "TA" 1S or 2S Bistro HD OTSM/NarsilM drivers 15-47.5mm size fit, S2+, C8, H03, MF01, MT03, Q8 Clicky or E-switch

I have recently changed code even on the 100% ramp Narsil not to go into strobes when ramped to max., as I had a few people complaining about it
Of course thats never been an issue with 80% ramping tables I also programmed in my custom TA triple channel NarsilM
So far I made a 60 and 80% ramping table for Triple channel drivers

So my new lights are now this way
v1.2 0—->100% double click 100%, double click, Strobe
v1.2 0—->80% double click 100%, double click, Strobe

I also check on every driver the temperature offset and calibrate it,
same for LVP I make it to any voltage you like and check if its spot on or needs sometimes 0.1V offset as well

GT=GigaThrower was first light that brought v1.2 NarsilM stock

Thanks Jason and Lexel for the info and explanations, I think I’m really going to enjoy the GT NarsilM v1.2.

I’ll get a driver for my Q8 too if I keep it. I despise getting strobes by accident, it’s great you’ve got that issue resolved with this.

You can keep your Q8 stock and reflash it too. The bare minimum parts to do it are like $3-4

still v1.2 is the same on the turbo issue if you do not change some things
and ramping for TA builds stays 100% without custom files

You can also choose Anduril or just disable the strobes in 1.2

Strobes can be always disabled in NarsilM from the user

I have no expirience with Anduril, but as the GT version has far more useless features than the straight and easy Emisar Anduril I would not do it

Swapping out to Lexels driver would be worth it to get the better regulated middle modes, but I’ll have to see how hard it is to change these battery contact rings, seems it’s a bit tricky, I’m glad he epoxied the components on the driver he customized for my BST, I’ve read already where someone who tried doing it with hot air had the topside components fall off.

But re flashing does sound interesting anyway, can you point me to those $3-4 parts and instructions?

.

“useless” features? Do you mean useful?

Can the strobes be disabled by user in stock Q8 Narsil?

Thanks, nice video. I also found the programming guide in the box that I didn’t notice at first…

Had to use one of these to read it!

lexel, is it possible to kill turbo mode so it can never be accessed? I happen to go to turbo all the time back from the lowest level and probably through some other sequence, and my LED would not survive that anymore.

It is possible to flash the turbo to be like amy % FET PWM you want to reduce average current, even if you go backwards or enter thermal calibration
Removing from reverse modes should be possible but that needs more investigation how the code has to be changed

Well, I never thought I would find spam in this kind of thread.

Spammers can target any thread. It’s usually the bigger ones, but small ones can also be hit.

Hey Lexel, how are the boost drivers coming along?

Has anyone helped you to modify NarsilM to run on them yet?

Interested in the boost driver as well.

Looking for Q8 type driver (with 2Series) to replace burned Convoy L6 driver (30mm) .
Help me to choose right options.

The main option is what you want it to do when power is first applied. Meaning what the tail switch does.
You can choose nothing, 2 short blinks, full turbo and I think moon.

I prefer that tail switch to be simply lock out ( do nothing ), it’s inconvenient to use anyways

Lexel should be PM you.

You want something like:

30mm, 2S, L6, NarsilM, PO=(NO)

I think you can choose 2 channel or 3 channel. 2 channel is something new so I’m not familiar with it other than its supposed to improve reliability.

Since he uses NarsilM v1.2. he might be able to set the ramp to 80% with dbl clk for turbo. That’s a good option to have.

You can use the spring from your old driver or order a new one. Shipping is cheaper if you solder the spring. It ships flatter. Anyway, I’m sure Lexel will get you sorted.
