any interest in 2*AA flashlight?

Sure I am interested, got any info on it? I really like the UI of the E11 I personally prefer a lighted side switch.

I’m more interested in the 2xAA performance. I don’t really care for the 2x14500 performance because at that size, might as well go with an 18650 light. If you can make it true 800 OTF, that would be quite remarkable. The current brightest 2xAA is the Armytek Partner A2 and Prime A2 and from my testing, they are really just about 600 lumens OTF from the warm white versions I measured.

Yes, I’m settling on the idea that the 2AA is the fundamental flashlight .

Yes… would like to see it!

Yes -

I have a 2xAA in front of me right now for daily use ( ok I have 8 flashlights ready to use - sorry - 9 flashlights - ooops - that be 10 flashlights )
Geez , got to look a little harder …

1xAAA - 1xAA - 2xAA - 4xAA - and 5 x single 18650 and one 2x18650 ( Thrower )

10 flashlights ready to rock N roll ( some one might be a flashaholic )

A 2x or 3x AA flashlight would be cool.

Glad to see some interest in 2XAA. I know many like to standardize their lights to this size battery. But for me, by the time you factor in the length required of such a light, I’d rather just go with 18650, despite the extra width. I’d go with 1xAA but not 2.

Not everyone have or are familiar with lithium ion batteries. However, everyone has AA batteries at home. A 2xAA light would be useful for both flashlight enthusiast and non-enthusiast alike. It would be a great backup or EDC light with enough capacity and brightness to make it very practical without needing to go lithium ion. Great gifts for muggles.

Show us some drawings of the light. 2AA are especially nice for non-flashaholics!!

Yes I am interested in that type of flashlight.

Will those two 14500 cells work in series, i.e. 8.4V to achieve the 1.200 lumens or will they work in parallel (2p), so one gets the double capacity? Most high drain 14500 cells lack sufficient capacity to provide enough energy for high lumen output.

YESS!!!

but I prefer improved performance/efficiency with 2xAA Ni-Mh please…

I dont want Li-ion.

And if it has USB recharge even better!!!

I got thinking about something similar to the TO1 …a flashlight that could be used with 1 x AA or 1 x14500, and came with an extension tube to make it a 2 xAA. I’d like extended runtimes rather than the highest output possible.
I also second samgalax’s idea for ‘performance/efficiency with 2xAA Ni-Mh please’ and usb charging.
I’d like it to tailstand and be bundled with a frosted plastic sphere so it could be used like the nitecore LD12.
Could be a great everyman’s blackout light.

Sorry if I went a little off topic …that’s my two cents.

Flashlights for the AA size are only relevant if they are designed for NiMh batteries (and Manker makes good boost-drivers so that should be do-able) . If the performance is dependent on li-ion 14500 cells, a 18650 flashlight will be superior in almost all aspects.

Usb recharge the NiMh would be great because there are not much ones that can recharge nimh. Others offer liion usb recharge.

Charging nimh in series is more expensive but more useful for me.

And the usb port NOT IN THE THREADS please!

The usb must be OUTSIDE the flashlight with a rubber cap.

Is very bad to have to unscrew the head to reveal the usb port

I agree with all your points! The Armytek Prime A1 Pro and A2 Pro tubes are swappable so you can use either 1xAA or 2xAA for more output. I think the Thrunite Archer 1A and 2A works the same. Usb charging would be nice addition, which would make this the one and only usb rechargeable AA light. Tail standing would be super useful especially during blackouts. Frosted cap to turn it into lantern would be great too for a AA light.

USB rechargeable nihm with a nice form factor. I would like to see two batteries next to each other, keeping the light short.

That would be perfect: a Sunwayman D20A-killer!

Interested! Please make it pretty!

I would like to see this one
I assume it would be different from the Manker E12, right?

A nice form factor, and a nice UI (quick access to the lowest mode and shortcut to turbo, are desirable at least for for me), besides all the performance on different types of batteries, would make it a great light with Manker’s quality!!
