YLP Gryphon G180 review with measurements (9*XP-G2, 3*18650)

Like the light but love the review.

I did not new info could be added, excellent work.

Its not fair to compare the D4 with 219 (comparisons for efficiency should be using the same emitters, dont ya think?)

The XP-G2 CRI70 and 219C CRI80 are quite comparable in efficacy.

But you are right, the linear driver in the D4 burns off the extra voltage as heat, which makes the 219C look even worse since its forward voltage is lower. But the buck driver in the G180 would still be more efficient given the same emitters.

I test it on Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500 mAh:

That looks like a really practically sized light. Looks wise the Manker MK34 is more appealing but this one has a much better UI. I wonder how hard is it to swap emitters on this light so you can use 219B/C in it. Would have been better if they up the turbo to match the MK34 though. Btw, excellent review as always! I enjoy reading them.

Thanks for the review. Refreshing to see no silly lumens for 30secs mode! A tripod thread would be a good addition.

Tell us more about these „defected bodies“, please. I just bought a Meteor M43 with XP-L Hi and I did not find any defects on the knurling/body so far. I only found out that the new body has only one hole for a lanyard whereas former versions had two holes.

It’s not really defective, but rather that some knurling is not well done on the top and bottom parts of the light.

Could be just an issue on your light @MaksVasilev.

Today I received a flashlight M43 and …
I am very disappointed with the product. I counted on top quality and got a flashlight that is not centrally set. The torch I got, has diodes not symmetrically in relation to the switch and it irritates me very much.

Sansung LEDs G180 have very smooth light and very wide and homogeneous in center. Also this have little less red tint in light.

Nice high quality photos. Too bad the LH351D isn’t being driven harder cause the lux would be a lot more comparable that way.

Is there any resistor mod or something that can be done easily?

Table in previous post in lux, not lumens. Samsung have more wide beam and with same lumens from flashlight have less lux in one point.

I understand but still the LH351D can be driven much harder than either of those LEDs and considering they are under a TIR and not a reflector I suspect the Samsung would equal the Nichia lux at some point even with it being more wide of a beam.

From your lux it seems to be catching up slowly. Maybe it wont be as drastic but still the harder it's driven the closer they get in lux
