So what is new with the Emisar D7?

:person_facepalming:

Oh no… This is some major bad news…

Very disappointing but I guess it would just be a DQG Tiny III with a few seconds of crazy high turbo. Has anyone modded a DQG Tiny III to turn it into a pocket rocket?

I’m bummed. In my imagination I was hoping for a mini Meteor at a more justifiable price point.

I’m gonna look into that YLP Gryphon. Looks cool!

The Emisar D7 is the most famous light that never existed…

For me that was the Zebralight Q50 (~2013), it was a great concept (still is!) and there is a cool rendering out there but none was ever produced.

I’m bummed. I was hoping for a multi-channel array.

hm was there ever a pic leaked out ? if not then not a big deal imo… but interesting what they have planned ahead new lights.

:person_facepalming: I am in deep sadness

Unlike the Q50 there wasn’t even a single picture of the D7. Specs were 3x18650 with 7 emitters. So the form factor is fairly unique. Because we do have the D4, D1 and D1S, we can sort of imagine certain aspects of the D7 like the colour, finish, texture and machining style.
People have been asking about this light on a regular basis, so the D7 was sort of alive to many of us for quite some time now…

Welcome to BLF! The fact that you made an account to post this (first post!) says a lot about the Emisar D7…

I hope Hank changes his mind…

Thank you! I enjoy with pleasure Emisar D4 and very much waited for D7. I like the size of lanterns 3 * 18650, but there are very few of them. And ideologically I like the Emisar series.

3 cells is not what emisar is.
Much better option is 26650, lightweight, small size, much power… this is emisar

Couldn’t agree less. Strongest 18650 beat 26650 one to one. 3 to one is no competition.

One word: 21700.

I hope so!

bleh… 26650!

so lets hope for it a emisar d8 then ?

D8 would be an even number of emitters, easier to power from more than one LiIon in series than odd. But if all emitters in parallel it doesn’t matter.

I just think anything physically bigger than a D4 or D1 would be nice to have available with a larger battery than 18650, mostly since the head is already large (such as D1S size).

For a thrower, or floody with more than 4 emitters, increased runtime from a larger cell is likely to be a benefit. But at the same time not all want it to be a total soda can light with 3 or 4 cells. So have the body still be smaller than the head, just not by as severe an amount. A larger diameter would probably make the body easier to grip too.

This leaves 26650 or 20700/ 21700 as the only viable options. I’m personally ok with 26650 and a spacer tube for 21700. The ∆l might necessitate a tailcap spring with higher excursion than usual. (longer, larger diameter, and made of thicker wire to keep it stiff and conductivity high enough.)

As with the D4, I’d really like to see it in (to be continued…)

Here, this’ll get my idea out accurately without having to worry about display calibration and color temperature:

I’d like to see them (body color) in the color of Crayola Crayon’s “Red-Violet”.

Or maybe slightly less blue, perhaps as red as Pentel’s RSVP “Burgundy” color.

Ooooh, how about with it containing Nichia 219B Sw45k R9080!!! (If a multi-emitter light)

On second thought, please don’t make them that way. I’d buy far too many of them!

So does anyone have any insight as to what Hank will be cooking up next?

OR 3 cells, 3 TIR x 3 emitter so a D9!

Hank?

I dont think any leaks is to expect, the d4 came out of nowhere and nobody knew what the hell it was until that lol…

Hank ?

Blast!!! I’ve been waiting for the D7 for a while to replace my buggy Manker MK34 - got a Meteor with HX-P Hi 5000K and really like it and it throws quite well.
Guess we have to wait till Hank comes out with some new beast.
