Massive fraud on 18650s in the Littokala Aliexpress stores!

Yes, I don’t think there are valid complaints about fakes from the good stores in the past. I have received genuine cells as well. The issue seems to be that the stores are now showing a picture of a 30Q cell with 4 prongs on the positive terminal, which indicates they are fake.

I guess there are 3 possible explanations:

1. They are fake.

2. The picture is wrong, but the actual cells have 3 prongs and are genuine.

3. Samsung has a production facility that is now making 30Q’s with 4 prongs.

On cells in first post link I see only 3 prongs

We will see

If someone ordered from other store with 4 prongs picture, let us know what you got.

looks fantastic… My problem is the samsung 30 Q doesnt work in my newer zebralights.
I mean, if I tighten the cap HARD, the tail cap makes contact , but it’s a lot different than the one sanyo cell I have.

You can see the samsung is a mm taller or so… I need to start rolling into cells that work in all lights…regardless of length.
It’s a pain have light specific cells

Are you using a button-top 30Q cell? Because, the flat-top 30Q’s work fine in my latest MkIV Zebralight.

If anything, I’d say the (flat-top) 30Q is slightly shorter than a Sanyo GA or Sony VCT6 (which I also use).

Are you sure your 30Q is genuine?

They are genuine, I got them with the Q8’s….
I guess they are flat top? They look flat….

google pic

If mine are button top, I am pouncing on this deal then…. Flat tops would pretty be perfect

Those on your picture are button top.

Q8 needs button top to work.

And you crushed them if I see good…

ok thanks… I dont think I crushed them… Only one was tried in the ZL… otherwise all 8 30q go in the Q8 only

Upper one looks like it is little crushed, but maybe just bad angle of picture.

And I use old low resolution tablet now so I cant really see good.

in for 18.
Thanks everyone

You may have crushed the one a little. For a button-top to fit in a Zebralight, you’d have to screw the tailcap down really tight, which would probably dent the positive button top. But it should still work fine in the Q8, since it doesn’t require much of a button to make good contact with the brass ring in the head.

Make sure to only use flat-top unprotected cells in any of the new 18650 Zebralights. Pretty much any good brand should fit, as there’s a little bit of tolerance over 65.0mm, but not much.

you guys rock!

Thanks again!

Yes! If you’re in the US Liionwholesale is awesome! When an address mistake caused my package to get lost in Narnia somewhere, they were very easy to contact and work with. Their prices are great but their customer service is top tier.

I ordered 4 x Panasonic NCR18650B end of march for $11.99, free shipping, from https://liitokalahongkong.fr.aliexpress.com/store/217753 and received them last week after almost two month transit time which is quite slow. Whatever i order from china usually gets delivered in two weeks from most vendors including AE various shops.

Cells look genuine and had 3.7-3.8V out of the box. I haven’t tested them further though.

Are these Littokalas re-wrap Sanyo NCR18650GA’s?

In general there are various cells under Lii-35A wrappings.
If they say this one is GA - it should be GA.

I bough from that store 4 Liitokala 3000mAh that were supposed to be LG HG2.
My lii500 shows that all the cells are around 3300mAh so they can’t be HG2.

Ok, here’s another one:

A GA with different wrapper. Anybody has this ?

Edit: Same wrapper as Liion wholesale: Panasonic/Sanyo NCR18650GA Flat Top 10A 3500mAh 18650 Battery - Genuin – Liion Wholesale Batteries

I’ve made 2 orders from different stores. Both say on the listing that they are Sanyo GAs, but ones from one order looks like samsung 35E (recessed top, 3 prongs) and from other order looks like LG MJ1 (4 prongs). Both measured the correct capacity and seem to sustain the correct max current, but they for sure are NOT sanyos

Im thinking about trying some out HG2’s or the 25r’s but using them for vaping. Now if these prove to be fake would I have issues with vaping if the max discharge is not sufficient?

If you’re using a mod that isn’t current-regulated, then certainly. And even with a safer current-regulated mod, if the discharge is high, it could get you into trouble. I don’t mind pushing a battery near its limits in a flashlight, but I wouldn’t want to do it next to my face.

If you absolutely need a high-discharge cell where safety is a concern, buy it from a reputable dealer that you know isn’t going to give you fakes. If all you need is 5 amps or less, then even a fake is probably good enough.

I’ve had good luck with cells from China, but you never know. Sometimes it can be hard to spot fakes.
