Not great. KD "C8" XM-L (noname) and Ebay UF C8 XR-E are substantially different. Different reflector and different pill .... not interchangeable. Total length is different too.
A lot of C8's might look the same, but have different measurements, especially on threads and diameters. I've had 3 different brands and there is very little interchangeability.
The XinTD is refered to as a "C8" only because of its general size and shape and 42mm lens and reflector. The actual model number is SC-82.
The original C8 is the Ultrafire, all others are clones or just similar flashlights.
About the only part of the XinTD that is the same is the 42mm lens.
Compared to other "C8" style lights, the XinTD is about .5 inch longer and heavier built. The XinTD uses a special reflector that screws into the pill which screws into the body. That results in outstanding heat sinking. The XinTD uses a top quality driver with choice of modes.
Does this light suffer with bad PWM like the UF980L?
With Nanjg 105c driver installed, you will have a hard time noticing PWM.
It´s a good one, far better driver PWM-wise than in 980L.

I've read quite good things about this XinTD as also e.g. KD C8 type of light. The technical differencies are quite obvious so I tried to look for some comparison beamshots - do such exist here in BLF or somewhere else?

^ OK, thanks. I was not sure whether the Kaidomain version is a "stock C8" or not... I'm thinking about getting a 1x18650 XM-L light with an orange peel reflector to complement my SkyRay STL-V2.
Just got mine, it is pulling 2.78A with a HiMax 2600, and 2.75A with a cheapo unprotected Trustfire.
If it has PWM, it is very hard to see it.
This is by far the best quality torch that I have found in a Chinese light for $30 or so, and no blinkies!!! Well worth the additional price over a KD C8, it is in a different class altogether.

About 6 weeks ago, but Paypal took forever to do an e-check rather than the instant withdrawal they usually do, so about 10 days of that was Paypal's fault.
Well, it took forever and a day, but some time in April my XinTD C8 arrived, while I was abroad. Mine is a 3-mode, with the neutral XML. I ordered a coated replacement lens (which is gorgeous -- not sure whether it makes a difference to the amount of light emitted).
First thoughts: this beast is extremely well made. Absurdly solid, really. The machining is good -- cleaner than many have experienced. I found only one cosmetic flaw: a ding in the tail which occurred before anodizing. I switched out the GITD boot for black, which looks much better.
I'm not sensitive to PWM, but the medium mode definitely emits a high-pitched whine -- louder than I've experienced in my other lights. The low mode is much quieter, and high is silent.
Even with the neutral XML, this is almost certainly brighter than any of my P90s.
The beam quality is... well, weird. Bright green, slightly irregular corona around the hotspot. I've tried screwing the reflector in and out, which lessens the corona, but adds unpleasant rings. Has anyone else encountered this?
I'm beginning to think that this really should be an orange peel reflector, to even out the beam. I wonder whether I should try spraying it with hairspray, as suggested somewhere (for a DIY op?)
Impressive light, no question, but I think it could be perfected with some modding.
Okay, I am now a great believer in hairspray. (Which is amusing, since I have no hair.) Unbelievable what it's done to even out the beam: this light is now officially gorgeous. Here's the Hairspray Trick, nicely described:
The crucial thing is to create a cloud of droplets in the air, and then pass the reflector through it. Do NOT spray the stuff directly on the reflector -- you won't get anything like a nice sputtered finish. I did this a number of times -- spray, pass, spray, pass -- until I ended up with an even diffuser. It's not really an orange peel, but seems to do much the same thing. The corona is now perfect.
