Xiaomi FZ101 Portable Zoom Flashlight - (closed)

I think it’s meant this way:
An XP-L that can do 1000Lm is built in, but we only get 672 Lumens out of the lens-system.
Since this light has no cooling, it’s not unthinkable that the XP-L is not running at 3Amps

Interested.

Depends.
It shortens focal length. Therefore it improves light collection which in turn improves efficiency.
But the lenses are uncoated, so another reduces light loss due to reflections, lowering efficiency.
The sum of both effects is more output, but a bit less throw. It seems that Xiaomi decided that overall this is an improvement and furthermore - improvement worth its price.
With AR coating such doublet would work significantly better though.

Also, the ring around the smaller lens looks suspiciously like a matte reflector.
It they focus the light fully, such reflector would cause ringy beam. So they probably just don’t allow full focus, leaving a smoother and nicer beam shape. In such config, the reflector improves efficiency.

Interest depending price

I’m interested!

Interested. Don’t normally like zoomies, but have a few Xiaomi products - all great.

$32.46 Xiaomi FZ101 Portable Zoom Flashlight at GearBest Store

https://m.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_1846889.html

Has anybody fond a review of this light?

32$… I expected more something like 12-15$

They already made a flashlight…
I bought immediately.
I was disappointed.
Unknown LED, sloppy UI with turning ring that misses some steps while you turn it.
It’s a shame, because I love XIaomi products in general.
I’ll wait for the first reviews, but I might be interested but not at the Gearbest price for sure.
20$ max is a good price IMHO

@Agro
Thanks for your long answer.
It’s interesting design. I probably won’t buy it but should be fun to read it’s review.

Interested

Interested. I’m also a fan of Xiaomi products

Definitely interested. I have several Xiaomi products and have been very happy with all of them.

  • Emitters: Cree XP-L HI
  • Color Temperature: 5500k

Curious if the CCT spec is accurate.

Size: 120mm x 25mm

Also curious for beam of the double lens system

Interested

Interested, maybe, would want to see the beam first.

But why would you make an integrated battery 2600 mAh instead of 3500 mAh? This way I don’t even have the option of putting in a bigger battery…

Interested depending on price and possibility of a replaceable battery.

Interested depending on price.

Interested, but depends on price, and would like to see a review too.
