The BLF 348 and OlightI3E EOS are also good.
I have come to prefer 1 mode lights also. Only if I were to go camping or hiking would I prefer multiple odes.

Streamlight Microstream. I have had 2 of them for about 5 years and they both are going strong. 1 of them has been through the washing machine a few times and after tightening the tail cap it has been good as new
If the primary criteria is ‘smaller the better’ then you won’t find anything that beats the recommended (multiple times) i3E. It is a fantastic little light & you should definitely get one before they’re gone.
BLF-348, Microstream & Hugsby (do a search on here to find where to find real ones) are all great also but none are nearly as small.
BLF-348 - One of (if not the) cheapest way to get a Nichia emitter.
Microstream - Long time classic from a company with a great warranty.
Hugsby - Solid little light at a very low price.
Tiny SS light with beautiful looks. Good grip and nice feel. The head acts as an on-off switch (120dgr twist). I have not been able to open it (yet. Press fit?). Unknown to me is if the head is waterproof. Batteries are put in by removing a tiny tailcap. This tailcap has a slot for a split ring and a minuscule O-ring.
I’ve carried a Tank007 E09 for years and love it. Of course it’s a 3 mode light and though it’s very small, it can’t compete with the Olight i3E which is probably the smallest AAA light around and at a nice price.
Discontinued, but the Odepro EA01 was a beautiful and classy little light. Discontinued, yeah, but if you get hold of Jenna from Odepro, maybe she can scare up one for you.
I ruined one with a friggin’ alkaleak which took a dump inside the light, tried cleaning it out but never got it working 100% (head works fine, but it’s the spring/switch in the tail that’s wonky), so asked her if there would be a replacement of any kind, and explained my sitch. She was nice enough to get one for me for 8-10bux or whatever it was, shipped right to my door.
1-mode twisty, sleek design, looks like a slim stretched rook (chesspiece) with a nice gold trim-ring.
Whatever you do, do not use alkaleaks… get an eneloop or something.
