Mecarmy New Releasing: Dual Color Temperature AA/14500 Flashlight

Any of your desired
leds combination please email us at support@mecarmy.com, we will let you know when the special version released.

That Titanium grey finish is so good looking!

219B 4000k 9080 for the WW!

1, it could have NW red emitter instead of CW + NW. Usually people who likes NW will never use CW but a red or UV led would be useful

I like the idea of a 219B R9080 and a 219C R9050 for some more brightness. But a red or even UV next to the 219B would not be bad.

We are working on the 219C 4500K R9050. Will show you guys the prototype once done.

I notice a few people don’t see any use for dual emitter with different tints, but for me personally a dual tint light is a really great idea, especially in a single AA light, because indoors I prefer warm white but outdoors I prefer neutral white, so a WW / NW switchable light would be perfect for me.

I’m actually quite surprised that no one else seems to share my opinion, as it hasn’t been mentioned here and wasn’t one of the choices in the other thread.

Maybe WW / CW combination would work if having both on at once would emit a neutral beam, (As DavidEF has suggested several times) although I’m not sure the combined beam would actually be neutral.

But $90.00 is way off the hook for a small light like this, at least for me.

A recent video from these lights:

My black, aluminium version of this light arrived yesterday. First impressions are very favourable. Good switch, which won’t accidentally come on in my pocket, and very bright on Turbo. It tail stands, and has a good strong clip.

I’m really impressed with the dual emitters. I’d say they are Warm and Cool White, rather than Neutral and C/W; the spec shows 4000K and 6500K. I’ve decided to leave it set on both on - and I get a nice neutral. The beam is really very good - if I didn’t know I would never guess that there are two emitters on together.

Like all the MecARmy lights I’ve seen, it comes with a battery - this one a directly rechargeable (no need for a charger) 14500. that draws 0.3A according to my USB tester, and ends at 4.20V when the green light shows it is fully charged.

Is it released, or prerelease sample?

Available from HK Equipment

It would have been super sweet, if there was a rotary adjustment so you can adjust the color temperature to your liking. Imagine being able to adjust anywhere from 2000k candle light to ice cold 6500k so daytime you can use 5000k+ for work and nighttime you can use 2000k-3000k for bedside use. That would be the ultimate EDC.

Very cool looking lights ….

Thanks for the support.

Nice suggestion, our engineers will take this into consideration and maybe make it happen in the future. Thanks.

Mine is the bog standard black aluminium one. The really nice one is in titanium - I’d love the Damascus special edition, but the price is a little outside my budget.

Could you please comment on the mode order : does it start with low or high ? Is there a mode memory ?
Also, is there a firefly mode ?

It can start in Turbo only mode, if the head is untightened slightly. Otherwise mode order is Med - Low - High - Strobe.

No Firefly, alas, as lowest low is 11 lumens.

Thank you for these informations. That’s disappointing but the good thing is, Mecarmy’s open to custom orders.

Personally I’d go for the following :

  • Aluminium
  • Nichia High CRI NW + red
  • Firefly (0,5 lumens) - Low - Med - Strobe (don’t think I need High, and definitely not Turbo)

And maybe there could be two strobe modes - one white, the other red. That can be useful for using the lamp as a beacon, and also to differentiate between other beacons which sometimes only have a white strobe.

Anyone know if there’s a lockout function to prevent accidental turn on?
