My MT07S XHP35 NW White arrived today... quite impressed with the light!
Exactly as advertised, the super-deluxe braided Paracord handle that also came with my MT09R accompanied this light, but amazingly at the SAME time the closure bolt for the D-ring assembly on the MT09R loosened itself and disappeared while changing batteries. So between the 2, one handle is useable....
i am more than suitably impressed with the lights performance, especially battery runtime. Throw is excellent, with a fairly even, though moderate corona surrounding a very intense small center spot. One thing gnaws at me, the reflector has what looks like a hazey residue on it, a QC fault in manufacturing. Its impact on actual performance is negligible, however, aesthetically it does detract significantly from the rest of the light which reflects top flight machining and finishing. I’d rather have a perfectly clear smooth reflector and a throwaway lanyard, however.
Id like to see if Haikelite will address the reflector issue. I’d prefer they just send a new part, since shipping the thing is just crazy.
For the discounted price, this light is a stellar bargain, and I highly recommend it.
final notes: I like the straightforward UI, but HL could really stand to upgrade the power “button”, it seems flimsy compared to the robustness of the rest of the light.
Good Lux!
PS MANY THANKS M4D M4X for your work and making this possible
I wonder if it’s possible that only the 35 version is supplied with the braided paracord handle. Only the 35 version is pictured with this on Banggood’s site, and perhaps to compensate for the fact that the 35 is a cheaper emitter than the 70, although both versions have the same price.
Any other XHP35 owners have the reflector haze issue ?
HiKARInoob,
The braided Paracord handle is the nicest type I've seen and really works/fits well with the bulk of the light. BTW What is the condition of your reflector? Who did you email about the lanyard? I would like a new reflector....
Most likely not going to happen. Although I’ve only read one measurement I think it’s more realistic to think of throw of ~200 kcd.
I just briefly checked the condition of my reflectors of my MT07S lights and they looked fine. However, I’ve never really looked closely as I’m easily satisfied I think when it comes to reflector quality.
I didn’t email anyone regarding the lanyard as I’m not going to use it.
i won the lanyard lottery and bought the farm on the reflector. It’s very minor, I’m nit picking but side by side with my 70.2 MT09R comparison (which has strikingly good reflectors) I expected better...
...then again at one third the price I’m not going to complain and it doesn’t negatively affect anything except light instruments, like 3% or so....
Just came in the mail today and I Love it
Thank You so much M4D M4X you are the Man
I ordered the black XHP35 HI Upgrade version and it was a steal. I will surely use this light the most. Fits in your hand perfectly, has a great UI, Beefy Lanyard and mount. Great on the road light, I drive 2hrs to work every day, just need to find a zip case to keep it in my lunch tote. You guys are going to like this one.
I have a CW 70.2 MT09R and am having TA work his magic with. The Cool White is waaay too blue for me, and now I know the right spec for it's replacements.
The 80CRI is key. I'm a high CRI kinda cat after all. Higher than 70s, anyhow. I really notice the color rendering subtleties.
The driver is FULLY regulated, the output will NOT decrease with depleting cells
Why? Because instead of having a 2S battery pack then bucking that voltage to an XHP70.2 6V forward voltage, it has a 4S battery pack.
Doing this allows for a very large voltage delta with the buck converter meaning with a 6V LED, output will FULLY regulated until the cells are empty, even on turbo if cooled well.
That is only valid for the XHP70.2 version.
At higher output levels, the XHP35HI version will suffer from decreasing brightness.
