BLF GT (preliminary) modding thread

The reading of the BLF GT is still around 13% under when measuring neutral white color with this type of lux meter. Adding this error will then give around 1.141 real Mcd intensity.

Using another type of lux meter. Lux measured at 10 meter distance.

…a man with one watch knows what time it is…

Oh how this applies to lux meters and taking readings from flashlights in general.

That commend is so true.

Made the GT centering ring in 3D and I made different thickness models. I will 3D print them and try the 3 GT soon. Sorry but I had a lot to do around the house.

Looking good ZozzV6!! . :+1:

I made the centering things in the following thicknesses in mm:
3.0
3.1
3.2
3.3
3.4
3.5
3.6
I need a few days for testing because I start night shifts today and I only home at daylight.

I have a BLF GT-70.2 and in my eyes the throw is not what shocks me. About 200 to 400 yards is hard for my eyes to determine throw, but not brightness.

A palm tree that I shot with my TN42 vn had a small tight circle of light on it (at the leaves) with the Thrunite TN42 vn. The same palm tree with the BLF GT-70 is in daylight the entire palm tree and houses and everything…… I mean 200 to 400 yards away in daylight…… It’s crazy……
!!

Yes, for practical ranges the XHP70.2 is a more useful light IMHO. I never would of guessed it would make these kinds of numbers.

That sounds good Manny! I would not mind a few pictures of that comparison!

/\ …. +1 . :+1:

Gave my GT a little personality today….

:::UPDATED ALBUM PHOTOS:::

That looks really cool!
How much do they add to the throw?

Nice. Throw distance is less as weight has been added to the light. :stuck_out_tongue:

BLF GT Pocket Edition:

Very Cool…… now you can clip it to the bill of your hat! :+1:
