FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

Wow, people, we are soooo offtopic
I hope we get an FW3a uptdate soon…

that Nellie vid Tom posted is fun, but has nothing to do with flashlights

here is a much uglier version of Nellie, dont watch it, as it has nothing to do with flashlights

and imo, it is in bad form to be using public bandwidth for this, but, since this thread is spiraling out of control…

suit yourself, we are on a slide into the gutter. I suggest people take a chill pill, and stop using this thread for ad hominem attacks… this stuff belongs in whine and cheese, if at all

can we get back to arguing about which LED is better?

OK, I will go first, the sw45 9080 is better, for me, than the XPL Hi. Smoke em if you got em.

Hum, even considering Firelight’s answer earlier, from these I understand that both 3 batteries will probably good enough, except on turbo where there can be some differences! Is this correct?
Thanks again for the clear answer! :+1:

What’d y’all think of the video I’d posted? Please don’t be too harsh; I only just now got a camera that can even take video.

LOL, that video is awesome!

I have both my Samsung 4000k and 5000k triples with me today and I love the nice, even color, large hot spot of both. I do have love for my D4 XP-L High with a frosted lense. But the Samsung leds have the better large spot without having to rely on the frosting of a lens to give spill to the leds.

Hey, if it weren’t for the fet, the fact those aren’t made anymore, etc, I would totally want a sw45k version. Hell, maybe I’ll disable the fet and try that. Idk.

I like it very much. Well done
I have much less need to spotlight the top of a distant tree with Low CRI, than I do to flood the area I am in with High CRI

but, both is good
buy more than one type of beam, and more than one type of LED

FWIW, I have a triple 219b with 7+1 driver and a polished 10511 optic. It uses Crescendo so it does ramping on a clicky switch from 0.2 lm to 800 lm, and it’s one of my nicest lights. The host is a compact 18650 “brass beauty” modded by Dale to prove it could be done.

It may be only 800 lm, but I don’t often want more than that anyway… and it otherwise is tip-top.

Basically, I’m saying a 219b version would be pretty nice… even if you disabled the FET.

here btw is an example of the different strengths and weaknesses of a flood beam with no hotspot and a beam with a hotspot. watch from the 2 minute 9 second mark for the beam comparisons.

neither one is best
both is better

Whenever I hear the word “Trump” these days I think of Donald Trump…

I am unable to load the LED and tint poll pages.

It’s why the Samsung would be a great balance between those extremes!

Not sure how to add photos, but I played with the manual settings on my camera and set it to 4500k and took a pick with both a Samsung 4000k and Samsung 5000k triple if someone wants them to post.

How to Post Images on BLF

Both 80 CRI

5000k Samsung

4000k Samsung

Yes, I did, but was doing it all in a browser on my phone so everything was so damn small it was difficult to tell what was what. Should already be corrected.

Maybe pull your link in your post so not to confuse people. I took mine out as well to make sure just one post of pictures with correct temp is posted.

Put me down for one, please!

Tixx, is your 5000K Samsung 90 CRI or 70?

@Tixx, yeah, is your the LH351D you have 4000k 90CRI and 5000k 90CRI?

I do doubt he has a 5000k 90CRI emitter though. At most he has 80CRI. Nobody, not even AEDe, can order less than 800pcs of 5000k 90CRI emitters.

In for 2.

Digikey sells them in quantities as small as 1.
