Syntax for adding html hyperlink into personal signature

I would like to add an html link in my personal signature in such a way that the text is clickable while the hyperlink source is not visible.
What is the correct syntax for doing so?
I tried looking for a manual but was not able to find one.

I know how to write plain vanilla HTML, however in the personal signature on BLF this does not seem to work

Finally I found out how to accomplish this: use the “advanced editor” for editing your personal signature to insert a new hyperlink.
Interestingly when I manually add exactly the same HTML code as the auto-generated HTML code in plain text editor, this does not work (?!).

Cool, I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time. Lol.

The old Advanced Editor. I never use it. That’s why I could never get this done. Thanks

Hm? I’m not quite sure what you mean.

“Text is clickable while the hyperlink source isn’t”?

Example?

He means the url is hidden and replaced by a single word, etc… that you can click.

Oh, like this?

Unno, I never had a problem. And I just use the regular “simple post editor” thingy.

Quote it as if replying, and lookit the source.

The simple post editor does not work for signatures.

Huh… ain’t that a kick in the head? Yeh, it takes everything quite literally, even entities.

Oh, well…

I guess this is a small Drupal 7 bug or inconsistency.
Ah well, at least we know there is a workaround
