Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Thanks, but why not just post links?

I’m a total noob. Thank you for setting me straight. Corrected my post above.

Some Prime eligible items. I have the two Forfar ones, and they are great as mod hosts, stock driver is the terrible next mod memory type and blueish low bin leds. No glue or thread lock.

Forfar S2 style 18650 edc light, fake xml-2 next mode memory reverse clicky 1.5A driver 17mm $5.10

Nice. Thanks for sharing.

I’m actually liking that AAA light with its 0.5lm moonlight mode. No blinkie modes either, plus it comes with a clip.

Which one are you referring to?

The Forfar AAA pen light.

That link takes me to the VG10 clone, not a penlight.

It’s doing that because the pen light option is gone and it’s defaulting to the first light. I hate when sellers do that. Just let the item be out of stock, and if the item changes, make a new listing.

I got the hovinso and the build quality is not as good as the forfar. The tail cap is compatible with a generic c8 clone so it can be converted to two switches. The reflector is aluminum and has a fake Cree.

todd, showing $43 plus?

Yeah I posted that 2 months ago. Guess they finally removed the discount. It was there a few weeks ago when I checked but I hadn’t checked in a while now.

Thanks, just saved some money for another light.

Excellent. What are you looking at?

I bought each of the two Forfar 18650 lights. At 5.10 each with prime delivery, they are both good deals as hosts.

The tube light looks it is the same body as the Sofirn SF12. I’d guess the driver (marked YYS12-01) is too. The host has a brass pill for the driver and LED. the deep aluminum reflector then screws to the pill, and the pill screws into the head. Driver modes kind of suck, and the lower modes have PWM. LED is cold and bluish.

The VG10 host looks identical to the thorfire VG10. The driver is marked VG15. I think the modes & memory make sense with the forward clicky switch it uses. The emitter is also cool, but closer to neutral,I find the tint nicer. I think this could be a nice & cheap light with just an emitter swap. I ordered two more with that in mind.

Well, unless you got one that looks different from the Amazon listing and different than the one I just received, the Forfar is different than the VG10, look at the tailcap knurling and the head krunl ring, both are different.
This flashlight body is actually pretty much exactly like a previous discontinued light called the Volador. They were being blown out on Amazon for around $12.99 and then $9 in December of 2016

I got 2 of those and they are rock solid.
I believe it to be a Alpha or Beta version of the VG10 that Thorfire never picked up as it does indeed share the internals with both brands.

Anyway, heck of a good score for $5
Thanks to the OP of this deal!

You are right. I wasn’t looking very closely. Definitely not a rebranded VG10, but not far off.

I picked up two more. I need to find some centering rings that will work with 3535 emitters. I spent more time modding the centering ring for the first light than I did on reflowing a new emitter, pulling the old mcpcb/emitter, and soldering in the new one.

$4.98 for this 3500 lumen tiny AAA zoomie flashlight. Unfortunately it has a blinkie mode.

Zanflare C4 Smart Charger for Rechargeable Batteries Ni-MH Ni-Cd A AA AAA SC, Li-ion 18650 26650 26500 22650 18490 17670 17500 17355 - with car adapter

$18(might be with prime only, not sure) - use coupon code ZMTZ9ZQN
otherwise it’s $29.99

Thanks, I ordered one. I don’t have prime, and your code takes $12 off for a final price of $17.99 with free shipping only if you order something else to bring the total over $25 (or if you have prime).
