Re: Mountain Electronics?

Mountain Electronics is my #1 goto source for all things related to flashlight modding.

If I need something, I check there first before going anywhere else. Highly recommended! :+1:

If I lived in Utah, Iā€™d be there in a heartbeat. Hey richard, you throwin out this box of d4ā€™s? Depending on the medication, he might say yes. Good luck & speedy recovery.

So what was your question for Richard? Maybe we can answer it

ā€œā€¦and there have been severalā€¦ā€

I just checked, I have ordered from Richard 130 times. He takes care of ya, trust me.

Iā€™ve spent a few thousand over there. Trust us, if you buy from him it will come.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Richard at Mountain Electronics. He only sells genuine stuff and stands behind what he sells. He has been very prompt and helpful with answering question Iā€™ve had over the years. And he ships orders quickly in very good packaging.

Same here, I have ordered several times over the years and always got what I ordered. I ordered a few things back when Richard was recovering from his accident and received my order in a few days. Communication was done through Lisa. I Highly recommend Mtn.Electronics. :+1:

Sorry to pile on but Iā€™m with Dale and the rest. I just checked as well and I show 44 orders over the last 2 and a half years without any complaints. Whenever there was a stock discrepancy Lisa handled it and gave me options to make it right. They are a two person team that has handled over 25000 orders in that time. To say I am impressed is an understatement.

Yup, best in the States! Would never hesitate to order from Richard!

I live about 7 miles from him and sent an email a couple of years ago to see if he did any will call. Never got a reply. I have never purchased from him but have referred others.

On top on the dirt bike accident, he is also a law school student IIRC.

Iā€™ve ordered from him too, all the way from the other side of the ā€˜small lakeā€™

The little communication I had with him was just normally good.

True. But orders go hand in hand with good communications with any type of business. The lack of any type of communication is waht is issue here. Not the legitimacy of business. I do appreciate all the feedback though.

Excellent store with great products, only the real thing here.
Not cheap regarding shipping charges to The Netherlands but very reliable.

Never had to use the contact form re complaints of questionsā€¦ā€¦

I get the communications thing, but this is a small operation that offers a lot of specialty items that are otherwise difficult to find or would need custom work. Iā€™ve personally had nothing but fantastic experiences with MTE, everything has arrived on time, as ordered, and functions as stated.

Maybe this has already been said, but itā€™s worth noting just as explanation.

Richard is (Mtnelectronics), his wife though does much of the order filling, shipping, and answering questions about product stock and so-on. Those type of emails are usually responded to very quickly. Anything technical has to be referred to Richard himself, who is often busy with building the custom orders, or whatever else life has thrown at him recently.

Itā€™s not an excuse for a business, I happen to agree that it sucks to wait so long for an answer, but weā€™ve come to understand and expect it here.

If you do have a technical question, I suggest asking it either in the Mtnelectronics thread, the ā€œWhat did you mod today threadā€ or perhaps elsewhere. You will likely get a quick answer from others that are happy to help.

FWIW, Richard got his law degree a couple of years ago. No longer a student and hasnā€™t been for quite some time.

I actually consider Richard a friend of mine, we speak on the phone and through personal emails as well as through BLF, gotta admit though, sometimes he just doesnā€™t get to the emailsā€¦ probably a technical reason but it is what it is.

From my experience Richard has been very responsive. However, I think he doesnā€™t check/respond emails on the weekend, which is understandable. I bought multiple times from MTN and it is one of the most reliable sources for flashlight enthusiasts. One time, Richard noticed his system overcalculated shipping cost for my order and he decided to refund me part of the shipping without me even asking him. I was surprised at his honesty.

I have placed several orders over the past 2.5 years. Never a problem & orders are always shipped promptly. :+1: . :+1:

Iā€™ve considered ordering from ME, but the details in the checkout area (at least for international) have made me order elsewhere (such as from Illumn). Basically, if the package is lost, you have to eat the cost. To me, this doesnā€™t seem like normal business practice, and definitely not the norm when using Paypal.

If I order something (and pay for shipping), I expect a tracking number along with a guarantee that I will get the package. If it isnā€™t delivered, I should get a refund or it should be re-shipped. Iā€™ve never had a problem with lost parcels from the US, but I donā€™t want to eat the cost if something goes wrong.
