*** NEW *** Haikelite SC26 XHP35 26650/26350 aka Fatty ***Update*** 2018-07-24

Greetings

I’m interested in a 26650 one. Colour is not of the utmost importance to me, but that being said the only other colour flashlight I have is a camo mini maglight. If the price is right I have no preference between Banggood, Gearbest, or distributors in other countries.

no names to protect the innocent I filed a dispute with PayPal. They said they would give the other party 10 days to respond. There was no response and I received a credit on my PayPal for the amount I paid. I never once saw a message about the other party has to have funds in the account, etc. The way I understand it, the whole point of PayPal is they provide insurance for online transactions, and it worked as advertised for me.

WOW!! vinte77:: What a killer custom configuration, Love your emitter ideas.

Six months ago the SC26 riveted my attention because it made use of the platypus 26350 cell (for me it was an RCR123 form factor with TRIPLE the capacity, 2000mAH) and modularity of the extension tube for LONG run times with a 26650 cell. In a very ergo compact form factor, ramping UI, and color choices. A killer combo for EDC, and at $32, a nice price.

....I’m talking myself into one again, Danger Will Robinson...

the battery capacity is the secret sauce here, and 2000mAh 2S makes for a lot of mod possibilities....

Navy Blue NW 4800 80CRI, please. :-)

Today will be 10 days since i filed for the paypal dispute… i will update…

Same here Newlumen. All I’ve received from Paypal is an e-mail stating my dispute has now been escalated to a claim. Nothing more.

Thanks for all the info hiKARlnoob. I prefer the green.

It seems to me whenever these upgraded SC26’s are released, Haikelite should honor the first 100 of us that paid Terry first chance at them even though Haikelite didn’t sponsor the group buy.

Thanks Ocelot, hopefully we can all get our hands on the SC26 in next 2-3 months so we can see some nice mods done to this light. I was thinking it might be possible to get kiriba-ru to design a triple/quad spacer for the light as well but that all depends on the popularity of the light.

Gents, I want to bring you up to date regarding the SC26. I heard from Dale that drivers are now ready and lights will be assembled shortly. Unfortunately, I don´t know how long this will take but I´ll keep you posted. Furthermore, I received the following new technical details:

  • 26350 battery might not work in turbo mode but works fine up to 1000 lumens
  • To achieve full 2000 lumens in turbo mode either a 26650 or two 23650 batteries are required

  • When I got Dale right than it depends on the type of 23650 battery whether more than 1000 lumens can be achieved with a single 23650 battery

Don´t hesitate to drop me a note or ask in this thread if you have further questions.

Cheers,

Markus

Do you have plans to have someone on the forum test one out?

Also, do you have a ballpark amount for shipping to the US?

Thanks for the update.

can wait for this to be available for International buyers. Banggood maybe.

Paypal refunded my money from the Terry debacle yesterday. To those who have filed PP claims, looks like you’ll be getting your money back.

Thanks for the update Markus!

I was wondering about this, and I’m thinking maybe the light will perform much better than 1000 lumens with a single 26350 cell.
There are very few places where you can get this cell, and Fasttech is one of them. The cell they’re selling is rated at 4A (https://www.fasttech.com/products/1420/10017428/5363800-inr-26350-3-7v-2000mah-rechargeable-li-ion), but HKJ tested this cell and it was able to handle 7A continuously (Test/review of Unknown LI26350C 2000mAh (Purple)). In order to obtain ~2000 lumens you need about 6A.
So maybe Haikelite rated the 26350 cell that it can only deliver about 4A, whereas in reality it can do much better?
This would explain how Haikelite obtained the 1000 lumen figure though; I don’t see it happening how just the additional voltage sag of the 26350 cell relative to the 26650 cell is the reason the light will only output ~1000 lumens.
It’s just an idea, and it would be interesting to see actual figures.

There are 3 possible reasons for not getting 2000 lumens from a single cell:

1. The cell is not good enough to push 20W, especially boosting from 3.6V to 12V

2. The very high resistance of the springs/contacts make the boost driver trying to draw more current, and the small cell is not capable of doing so.

3. Haikelite is just cautious.

Not yet.

The last information from HaikeLite was that they want to have local distributors/dealers for each country so I guess we are not allowed to sell their products to US residents. Nevertheless, I can clarify this with HaikeLite.

Status update: I´m still waiting for a response from HaikeLite regarding SC26 assembly status and as soon I hear from them I´ll keep you posted.

Appreciate it!

We have an update. Haikelite updated their website with new info on the SC26, which can also be found in the first post. One step closer… :sunglasses:

That’s great if the 1050 is sustained output

That would be nice indeed. And the light’s thermal roof can be programmed and increased up to 65 degrees C, so that’s one way to increase continuous output. Really nice. :sunglasses:

1000lumen output nonstop shouldnt be a problem for the size of this host.

What would make it even more ideal if the “Group: Low 150lms 》 450 Lms> 1050 Lms” sustained output and easy accessible turbo mode.
Usually I like sustained modes but that doesn’t mean I see zero use for turbo. I just don’t want to click past 99% of the times I don’t need it.

Looks like Vinh is going to offer his version of the SC26, the SC26vn. https://skylumen.com/collections/v54-lights/products/haikelite-sc26vn-coming-soon
