Yes, the Gerber is the copy of the old CMG.

That isn’t a fair statement. Gerber bought the rights to the design. And then dramatically improved on it. What you buy now looks nothing like the CMG. Gerber’s version is my favorite “twist” switch.

Special edition in Ti. Use a Cu pill, similar to Lumintops Ti Tool, to smooth out the twist action that budget Ti lights are known for.

I spent April 2018 re-reading all threads related to the E01 on the interwebs.

I modded my e01 with a yuji a while ago. With that experience I would not get a modded light from anyone for I could not be sure about its long term reliability. My specimen has worked just fine for half a year but I know that I made some specific damage to the LE and I am almost certain that there could be an additional damage that I am just unaware of. A night stand light? Probably. A bomb proof light with e01 logo? No way.

So I’d gladly buy a couple Fenix made yuji e01 regardless of price

The Yuji 5600K looks good too.

For a keychain light, I prefer it to be white and bright. I won’t use it to do other things beside to see what’s in front of me so color rendering is not too important to me. I just don’t like the purple tint the stock E01 has.
