Best Ultra-Budget single AA light?

I'm looking for a single AA <10$ flashlight with the maximum output possible (runtimes don't matter) for presents.

I found a lot of 4-5 bucks lights on MF but can find hardly any reviews or recommendations. Please help.

I like this: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/uniquefire-aa-s1-3w-osram-160-lumen-led-flashlight-1-aa-1-14500-24220

or a Sipik SK-68...there are many SK-68 threads currently running.

Sipik SK68 is nice but if you can go to $10.50 USD this angle head is very useful...

US Seller on Ebay "campingsurvivals" has the Sipik SK-68 clones reasonable and being stateside you'll get them fairly quick. I ordered 2 (gifted 1 and that friend loved it) and like it. However, I will say the Manafont Ultrafire version was a much nicer build quality. Take your choice of silver or black. This light always seems to be a hit as a gift.

Under 10$: Sipik.

20$, I´d say Balder SE-1?

I found this one

It has a Q5 (I LOVED Q5, it was how I was introduced to High-End lights "back then") and costs only 5.5 shipped !

I have gifted nearly a score of these (Sipik), and they have never failed to impress.

I gave one off my hip to an electrical supplier, and he crumpled up the ~$40 invoice he was about to hand me.

These lights also make for an excellent segue to lithium-ions, as the jump in brightness is noticeable on the higher-voltage cells.

I will give you one of these for free, if you pay shipping. Not a fan.

TomTop.com has a 1-mode Sipik 68 clone for $7.10. You may be able to get 10% off with discount code TT10FEB29 (good through tomorrow; nope only good for 10% of $100, but you do get points for signing up an account first and the newsletter that can save you 70 cents), plus volume discounts since you're buying a few. Newbies will be amazed by this thing.

Yep

Talked myself into that one. Ordered it last night and tonight they sent an email saying it is shipped. $6.40 for a flashlight shipped from China.

When you receive it PLEASE let me know what you think about the built quality of the light.

welcome to the forum Acetaminophen.....cheap AA lights will give you a headache .

keep up the search

Ordered 3 from tomtop on the Feb 18th and it arrived today 29th - to California. Not too bad. I like the lights.Tested all 3 with Sony Nimh batteries and they are all very nice. Led reflection on the zoom is focused and on the wide, light is very useable. As for fit and finish, for what I paid for, its great!

Thanks everyone on this forum.

Welcome to BLF, newuser01.

Y'know, if you stick around long enough, you'll have to change your user name. ;)

I have fun on BLF and you can too!

We will.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

If you can wait a week or two longer, I hope to test a few new ultra budget 1xAA lights that I ordered. They should arrive any time now.

Wait, wait, a real flashoholic can't WAIT, he has run to the CHECKOUT^^

I ordered a couple of the recommendations incl. the Sipik clone and the Police light and 4 of the cheapest AA / AAA buyincoins lights and will see how they work. Also got the Q5 thing (THANK YOU Chicago X!!!). Let's see let's see when what arrives.

I just received my TomTop Sipik Clone and would like to guys that it's AMAZING!

It's 1 mode, it runs pretty bright on 1 rAA and shows its full power on a 14500 (Great!). Built quality looks awesome, I'd say it's the best budget light deal I ever invested in!

Could you post beamshots/wall shots comparing NiMh and Li?
