Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

Thought that might be the case, thanks for confirming.

You can temporarily switch the green light for the button off by

- switch the Q8 ON and while the buton blinks out the channel switch it OFF. (It is a slowish double press). Or

  • while ON ramp a bit and switch it OFF.

I use this bug to switch off the green LED when it sits in the shelf. For normal use I prefer a lit button.

So basically turn it off immediately after ramping up or down turns off the switch light for that on/off cycle, cool, thanks! :+1:

Hello people!

I ordered 3 Q8’s from the first batch for friends and me. However one of three got the button light broken. I remember this was an issue on the first batch. I contacted the miller some time ago, but i heard he was very busy with personal stuff. Can someone here tell me i this is a problem i can fix myself. Or can i order some kit with parts to replace something?

Thanks

Sofirns Aliexpress store has started carrying Q8 parts. Go here, look under Color choices and you’ll see the switch for $3.

Hi.

May not be the right place.

Do you think the Q8 is too heavy for a hot shoe mount ?

Got a Panasonic Lumix FZ300 and was wondering if the Q8 would be too much for it.

Well, absolutely not.

The BLF Q8 is actually lighter than the FZ300, even full of 18650s.

So, no problem at all for it.

Thank you sir.

What do yo want to mount where?
The Q8 ON TOP of the Panasonic?
Or the Q8 and Panasonic with a double sided screw on the two threads?
Or the Q8 on a tripod?

Hi. I want to mount the Q8 to the flash hotshot on top of a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ300.

Massive amount of light for night shooting.

I think it would be extremely top-heavy. As long as the hotshoe is robust, I think it would be ok, temporarily. Long term, I think you damage the hotshoe. I would feel safer mounting it to the tripod mount under the camera, or on a separate flash bracket mounted to the tripod mount.

Something like this would be safer.

Thank you.

Good day BLFers. I got 3 Q8 from Banggood US warehouse a couple of days ago. Unfortunately all 3, the o ring will pop out while screwing the body to the head. Approximately 1 in 8 attempts the oring will not pop out. Im thinking of ordering smaller size o ring. I dont know if it s the right remedy. Please need advice. Thank you all.

Is the o-ring in its groove? If so they may have changed the o-ring make, slightly different so it now pops out. Does some silicon grease help?

Yes it helps tremendously with the O-Ring not popping out since it slides in smoothly then, if the silicone grease is applied BELOW the O-Ring and not on the O-Ring itself.

Doing it under the O-Ring makes the turning action much smoother, while doing it on the O-Ring, well, if you can screw a fattened O-Ring, the BLF Q8 will become completely waterproof except for the switch, and if you can’t, well it is problematic.

Yes the O ring is in the groove. They all have grease of some kind. But i did clean the thread and o ring and regreased them on the o ring and under, and also the thread, but it did not help. The o ring felt unusually soft.
Thanks Jozz and Blue for the reply
