GB interest list for Luxeon MZ 3V 5700K 90CRI (9080 Nichia rating)

I’d be interested in 5 leds, if possible with 4 already soldered on an X6 quad pcb and one on a 16mm dtp one, but I’ll take them either way.

Because there are very good hosts for p60 pills which have “extreme” heat fins meaning lots of surface area. I own a Cryos M2 cooling “bezel” (head) which I have never had a suitable drop-in for. For a light like this I would think about using a fivemega cooly host though since it offers even more surface area, has a fixed head and is compatible with larger batteries.

These are rather expensive modding products which are in my opinion much better than standard, single-cell hosts from a cooling perspective.

The downsides of the p60 system can be worked around by using a special pill design.

The fins of the EE X6 host are not worth much, they are too small and too close together.

3 leds, please

Interest list is closed, LEDs are odered (long time ago:)), when LEDs arrive members on list would receive store discount coupons for MZ products.

Ugh, I thought I’d expressed interest in this.

In any case, do you have a rough ETA on arrival of the MZs? I’m planning on ordering some 4040 MCPCBs and trying to decide if I should wait to order the MZs from you, or get them domestically.

Max. 8 weeks. Flux bin should be quite bit better than what is currently available from Mouser,Digikey etc.

8 weeks  I hope that they’ll be available soon, copper host is waiting for them

They are on its way from Philips factory.

They are finally here, flux bin is R!

That’s great, I think these will make for an extremely efficient high-cri X6 quad!

Yes, I think triple and quad CUTE optics builds will be most popular. At 24Amps my calculations predict ~6000lm OTF lumens (6700lm LED) for Quad CUTE and R bin, Vf=3.13V, this means light output will still be 6000lm when battery (VTC5A) is 50% discharged. I will build one X6 this weekend.

These leds are not cheap (per led, per lumen it is much better  ), but I bought some for a Q8 built. Could be 8000 lumen of extreme tint.

They have 8mm2 of die area (expensive) on high thermal conductivity aluminum nitiride subrstrate (expensive),Philips was always among most expensive LED brands.

I want at least 1, but on a 20mm with FET and NTC on it, but i don’t see it listed as such.

Will you get some high output Luxeon Z ES in the future?
Those SST-20s seem to be un-de-domable without breaking the bond wires… :frowning:

I'm still in process of adding MZ listings with various PCBs,please check later.

I will not have Z ES, they are too small for flashlight applications.

Too small?
I think they can do 4 Amperes and have low Vf so would be nice for linear drive throwers, like aspherics
You have the boards for them already.

There is already good selection of Z ES on Mouser. For max. throw orsam black flat is still better.

True, but Mouser charges € 20.— shipping… :weary:
Yes, Black Flat or old XP-G2 etc… But they both have very high Vf.
So in real life the Z ES looks ideal for a linear driver on a single cell.
Same benefits as the MZ, which afteral is 4x Z ES dies.

There is Luxeon N (2mm^2 die), which is smaller brother of Luxeon V, they are both newer and more efficient generations compared to Z ES, and soon there will be new LED from Philips, same die as Luxeon N,but in 3535 package.Let's hope they will announce domeless version too.
