I postponed contacting Dale regarding the new driver. No hurry on this side, and I’m sure it’s hectic busy at Haikelite. New MT09R with improved driver should soon hit the stores, and people should receive the new driver soon hopefully. I’ll check that out first.
On a side note, I just came back from a midnight hike in the woods with both my original MT09R 70.2, and good grief the output and beam is just a dream. It’s a stunning light alright, and I’m glad mine work well.
I ordered new M09R.
It has new driver Texas Avenger.
I recived new drivers to my MT09R ordered from group buy.
Tonight I ’ m going to measured lumens from new MT09R and compare with my modded MT09R from group buy.
I don’t have old drivers.
I swapped oryginal from MT09R to MT03.
I can add pictures of new drivers in flashlight and alone.
How to add miniature on post??
EDIT
I found Picture of old drivers soo I add it too.
I’m curious how different this production driver from Haikelite is compared to TA’s hand built driver. Did HL change the design or try to make it cheaper/cut corners?
Interesting that they are already selling / shipping these drivers. I asked this weekend when they would be ready and they said they were not done yet. They were supposed to send the rest of the payment before they started selling these.
The drivers are the same design, the only changes are some of the components to work correctly with the voltage change.
Since the PCB is the same the only way to tell them apart is by looking at the components.
The easiest method is to look at either the bank of resistors or the R8 resistor to the right of the MCU.
Bank:
XHP70.2 = 47ohm
XHP35 = 150ohm
R8:
xhp70.2 = 22k ohm
XHP35 = 47k ohm
There are some other component changes as well but these will be the easiest to see.
