What is the difference between this MT09R GB vs previous MT09R GB?
The driver.
It now uses the Texas Ace FET+resistor array driver.

Several things…most of which is that the lights from the previous batch were “not up to snuff” to put it nicely. Many weeks of Texas Ace making lemonade out of lemons and modding these lights to work even better than they should have in the first place. Now this batch is claiming to use Texas Ace’s mods and driver design in this version of the lights.
Best part of last group buy…I got a blue and green light, both very nice colors…not to mention Texas Ace personally modifying both of my “not so good” stock lights into brilliant blasters.
The second batch/group buy may only offer black and white.
Also there was a different person running the first group buy than is running this one.
I suspect you will pay quite a bit less in time, trouble and money if you buy this light at GB prices (and assuming its as awesome as the modded ones), than many of us did to have ours tinkered with and upgraded.
Was blasting both of them around the neighborhood a few nights ago and people thought aliens were landing…these lights are so bright they actually CAUSE problems, not solve them…LOL!

Does anyone know which version (CW or NW) of the XHP70.2 will be brighter?
On the defunct Terry’s GB, the NW version was tested by TA to be noticeably brighter than the CW version.
Is it safe to assume it will be the same on this GB???

If the driver is the only change they made, then the NW should be performing better than the CW (the driver is still a FET driver). However, I personally interpret the words “noticeably brighter” as brighter using a lux meter, and not brighter by the eye.
Interested in XHP 70.2 , possibly in deep blue (I hope).
Only black and white are available unfortunately, unlike with the SC26.

I should have been more specific. You are right. I was referring to the lumens measurement that TA did.
On another note, looks like BG is now accepting pre-order. I hope this means freeme will have the codes ready for us soon.
Fairly sure the pre-order prices for both the XHP70.2 and XHP35 HI were both $165 yesterday??? The XHP35 HI version is listed at signficantly lower price of US$120 now.
If so, I am leaning towards the XHP35 version now.
