Clone of On The Road M3 ~$13

I want a better fitting cover :stuck_out_tongue:

But really I’m not stressin’ over it either because the price but just sayin’

Anyone know if it can be used without batteries inside, powered up directly via USB? (I know it can be powered up via USB with batteries inside)

Nope, both red and green lights turn on, but no main light.

Is there a 18350 version of this? Only thing keeping me getting it is the fact that I'll need to get new batteries again, and even lower mAh ones.

No, and it comes with a good battery.

It looks like the newest version is a darker gray and has the name/logo printed on it.

.

It also looks like the jaxmnve store has a new model clone light with the same UI as the M3 clone. It’s an 18650 adjustable head light with built in charging. Looks a bit like a Rofis.

Comes in either CW or NW with a 2600mah battery for $18. Not bad.

If only the 3 brightness levels were batter spaced, it would be a great light. Maybe even slap on an 18350 tube! Always room for improvement. Lol

Oh it does and comes with ramping? Wow, I'm sold on it! How many mAh does it have?

Their store is interesting, they also have a small 18650 light that has a terrible UI. Can this light actually comfortably be used on a hat? Do you know if there is a 18650 battery tube that can fit on this too?

I'll probably get one since it comes with a battery

About 600 mah which is average.
The ramping is linear meaning it gets real fast at the lower levels and is tricky to stop it where you want.
The 3 preset levels are: 145, 240 and 470 lumen.
The lowest level in ramping is about 50 lumen.
So the UI is not great, but for $13 total price it is a good bargain.

You can’t convert it to 18650 because the battery tube and head are one piece.

They have a $13 18650 light called the M8 which looks like it still has their older UI which is medium-high strobe. That really does irritate me because you have to always cycle past strobe.

They also have a $27 18650 light called the M18. I would skip that one because there are much better lights in a similar style for around the same price.

For an 18650 based light, I would look at that twisty head light. It’s only $18 and includes a generic battery. It’s got the same UI as the current M3 model. Plus it’s got the adjustable head. These bendy head type lights are typically in the $40 to $80 range from other manufacturers. $18 is by far the cheapest I’ve ever seen one.

In fact, I just ordered it along with their M1 stainless light.

Thank you! Sadly only few can work in that mode. :frowning:

Can anyone tell me which emitter color choice is closest to NW ? The 2 choices are white light and light yellow. Thanks.

My today’s fast morning test. Left WUBEN A21 APOLLO NW, right JAXMNVE M3 yellow.

Thanks Petr J, just ordered yellow. Was afraid the cool would be blue.

Is this light just a roche F6 ?

Nope, completely different.

VW, can you expand on the charger. Did you hardwire the connector to the light or did you just slide the connector into the micro usb port and use silicone to seal it?

I was thinking of this:

It looks like you cut away the aluminum around the port to make it fit. Since the connector is steel, could you just grind the top of the connector so it will plug in or would the cable not fit to it properly?

folomov EDC-C3 does that - the head has the USB jack, you can take it off the body and it will run from USB.
Though the usb supply you use may limit max output…

also it is kind of expensive. but it can also function as a power bank, with a special cable that it comes with.

wle

My review of this light is done if anyone is interested.

Received my Jaxmnve M3 today . Cool little light. Any suggestions as to how to unscrew the bezel . A couple of specks of dirt on the emitter and gasket I’d like to clean up. Must unscrew as they include a spare lens and o ring . Other wise all good. Warm tint. Usb charging , 16340 cell , clip and lanyard all for $13.60. Might share duty as pocket work light with my Sofirn SP10. Oh , magnetic tail cap also.

Never mind about the bezel. Got it off with a rubber band.

I think what makes it worse is On The Road got the UI so right for their M3 & U16, it makes the jaxmnve that much worse.

I will keep mine for $9 but I wouldn’t recommend the jaxmnve over OTR’s new M3 pro.
