Now with undiscounted price of 120 vs 165, it will be very interesting to see Freeme’s groupbuy price.

Yes, but I would not do any bypass on the light. That could overdrive the emitters too much.

TLDR: Same driver, but unlike the XHP70.2 version, there is no gain in bypassing the springs.
