Ok, hereās an ideaā¦ā¦ā¦ and it could double the number of giveaway lights!
Do a normal āIām inā rule but only one entry per person and been member since āXX dateā. Pick 2 numbers every 2 days from the list via random.org and the winner of your light has to ( not compulsory) buy a cheap (under $5, could be $0.46!) light from Gearbest/Banggood/ebay etc to send to the second place person.
If there are any duplicate winners just do it again, only 1 win per person.
Thereās plenty of cheap lights on those sites, and it would make the postage free (in most cases) .
Banggood low price rising
Gearbest low price rising
Obviously the second place person (winner of cheap light) could stay in the main draw.
Iām sure 99% of us could afford under $5 (cheapest I could find was $0.46 keychain) and if they couldnāt, well, itās not compulsory :innocent: . Of course this would be done on trust, but we are all genuine on here right?
Just an idea! :+1:
Either way, thank you for offering such a massive giveaway - generous doesnāt even come close!
I like your idea the best but would add "under $5.00 or over if one chooses" as a sort of mystery as what the 2nd place draw gets. Could be a lot of fun.
I like the idea that the person who wins must do a giveaway too That way your 40+ light giveaway turns into an 80 light giveaway . I like random easy giveaways that you use a random generator to pick winners . you could give away a light a day for 40 days .
Some nice looking lights ā¦. itās clear youāre a flashaholic .
Welcome to BLF
Impressive collection! :+1: Extremely generous of you to do such a giveaway. I like the idea of not excluding newer members, as long as they joined before your post. People newer to the hobby may appreciate winning more than those who already have dozens of lights.
I look forward to seeing your rules for the giveaway.
I guess you can define some things if you want (some were mentioned above)
- starting date and end date for the GAW
- number of posts for the members to participate (or not)
- registry date that can be elegible (when the members made they register on BLF)
- special rules (some where mentioned above: making funny posts to say āIām Inā; the members that win your lights have to make a GAW too; members have to make a review of the light; ā¦.and much more)
shipping costs (if applicable)
These are some things, take it as suggestions I do hope to see your own made flashlights being discussed soon here in the forum!!!
kidding aside, thatās some serious philanthropy, to make it shine the most, I urge you to consider give it away something for every region, then after every region had been impacted by your good deed (people will pay it forward), consider density of population.
what i mean is for example, give 1 light to asia, 1 light to europe, 1 light to n. america, and so forth, after every region had been met, you should then consider density of the contestent, such as major city, new york, shanghai, etc, major cities will get 2x or 3x the winning. finally, if you still have anything left, make sure you give one to me.
I am from USA, SF bay area. I here by declare if I get anything, I will pass on your good deed by at least 2 fold.
