The first XM-L T6 bin flashlights and P60 modules. This is the beginning

Nice find. That amazes me that they are the first to have it. Definitely a sign of things to come. On the Cutter group buy they were saying the T6 has a greenish tint, so I changed my order to a T5 hoping for something better. Can't wait for the reviews.

my question is, will cutter put it on their site With a 14mm star available?

i have heard talk of it but have seen nothing...

i would buy a bunch if they do, because at any current it will be brighter than all the previous leds

Anyone have experience with the flashlight host from KD? Any good?

Edit: Spam level -1 :(

It looks very much like an Ultrafire C8/Aurora AK-P7/whatever. I have an AK-P7 and like it,

Reset. :)

I saw that too. Seems nearly everyone in the thread changed their orders to T5. I guess I'll wait for reviews of the T5 vs. T6 before I buy. This is exciting! Lets hope we see an actual noticeable improvement over MCE/P7 offerings.

greenish tint doesn't bother me at all!!!!

the more light the merrier!

just hoping the p60 pill will screw into my aurora body, otherwise im gonna need a 14mm board!

Just for kicks... from CPF group buy thread:

T5 050 tint: 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D for exactly BIN > Cutter's mail
T6 053 is 2S

yea id be happy with a 2s color. a little green but im more interested it overall output, and the fact that ill be outside neways. that greenish tint will go away

Well darn you guys! :) I just bought the KD C8 CREE XML T6 1000 Lumen. You're right... its all about output so who cares about tint! Hey, at least its a good excuse to buy. I have the similar SpiderFire SSC P7, which is my overall brightest 1 x 18650 light, so this should be a good comparison.

my brightest modified flashlight is my MTE-p7.

i had to change the driver, with 2 cr123's it draws exactly 2.8 amps, HOWEVER, its a C bin, so im lucky to get 500 lumens out the front!!!!

my R5 V6 is about 3/4 the light output on one 18650!!!! (1.4 amps vs 2.8 lol)

let me know if that C8 has proper heatsinking or if its a drop-in style light

also, check my thread on p7, i want to upgrade my MTE to a Dbin asap, so i have a good baseline uber flashlight to compare to!

Thanks for bringing that up XP. I just assumed that since my Spiderfire has a brass screw-in pill that the C8 would also. Has anyone seen one that is drop-in style or are all C8's screw-in pills?

I bet I'll have to upgrade the driver but maybe not...

I agree, its going to be interesting to see how they compare in similar hosts with well driven LED's.

yea, let me know when you get it, i have to save some money neways lol

So what would be a good driver for one of these then running it at full output ? I would prefer to install one in my Surefire l2x extended 2x18650

well not to many drivers will take 8.4v.

the shiningbeam 2.8amp driver only takes 6v

2 more ultrafire light with XM-L

Couldn't resist. Went ahead and bought the drop-in. I have a couple of empty P60 hosts that needed a little buddy.

Me too, but I ordered the C8, and I'm looking around for some XM-L LEDs now. The P7 drivers and a possible hoist are on the way ...Oh my, I hope my bank account will stand all this "Iwantone-mania" these days...

My pending orders:

DX, 5 orders

LT, 2 orders

KD, 2 orders

My new meditatation phrase: "I have all what I need, I don't need to order anything now."----- "I have all what I need, I don't......"

It turns out they don't survive de-doming but when properly heatsinked - in this case to half pound of copper, they can take 4 amps.

Thanks for the link. Thats some good reading. It seems that the XML will probably survive 3A dedomed if well sinked and 4A with the dome. Im very impressed with the 95,000 dedomed lux as apposed to 50,000 with the dome (@3A). As prices drop, this is going to make for many interesting mods. I just might have to buy a lambda 3D mag or one of his proposed kits. How's your 90 holding up Don?
