Any accessories that can plug into this Blitzwolf solar panel to charge 12v car battery that parked under sun?
Or use a cheap boost circuit will do? Will it spoil the car battery?
Thanks.
I am thinking if I use a boost circuit that set the voltage to let’s say 13.5V, so it won’t charge the car battery to 14+V, will it still over charge the car battery?
According to article below, it is the maintenance phase, looks like it is not charging the battery anymore.
I really don’t know. I’ve got two new charger/maintainers on motorcycles and they tend to maintain at about 12.6v to 12.8v. They have advanced circuitry like in the link you posted where it goes through multiple phases to charge, monitor and maintain the batteries.
I know there are solar chargers for 12v RV’s and boats, etc… You don’t want to get one of them? If not, I would do some online research to see if these 5v units can be rigged and not ruin your battery.
Ya, I have two car battery chargers those do multi phase charging. I think this Blitzwolf is good product and if it can be used for multi purpose besides charging mobile phones, it will be even better. That is why I am not keen on getting those 12v solar for car, and not sure how is the quality/price compared to Blitzwolf.
I’m no expert either but from what I understand I’d say this should work and will not overcharge the battery. But this will reduce charging efficiency as you would have two converters in series (Blitzwolf already has some kind of converter for 5V), charge rate would also be reduced by placing the panels behind glass window.

I haven’t seen such data. Still it’s pretty save to assume there must be some step up converter because nominal voltage for single cell is around 0.5V and there are 8 cells in BW-L3 so at most ~4V if connected in series. Cells do not seem to be broken into smaller separate parts so higher voltage is rather not likely.

I don’t think BangGood has the S2+ w/ Biscotti. They only offer the old, and annoying, 3/5 mode group for the S2+ for some reason, even on the newer Desert Tan, Cyan, Purple, and Orange models. But the C8+ listed on BangGood does come with Biscotti (you can see it says “12 mode”).
