Sofirn SP70 Alone $50, PM for AMZ US CODE(LIMITED)

Agree,original design with larger head.

It might be stupid but I personally found that with different battery C8F can give different lumens. From what we tested is about max 2500LM but you guys get 3500LM from C8F. What is the trick?

How about the tube knurling like Q8’s?

I think most of us measure output with battery freshly charged to 4.2V. You have fet driver in the C8F and if the battery is even 3.9V you can measure lower numbers. In my measurement tables all the numbers measured right after power on and jump to turbo. Some people measuring it after 30 seconds but as the light heats up and battery sags voltage that numbers also lower than measuring at start.

And the battery is very important. I use barely used samsung 30Q-s and LG HG2-s for measuring.

Freshly charged Sony VTC5D. Maybe I got a cream of the crop C8F with the best emitters in its bin.

3,490 startup lumens
3,250 30s ANSI lumens

I personally like an aggressive diamond knurl. Something like the Q8 would be nice, but without the milled flats.

That’s very nice! Thank you! (and sorry I get back to your reply late. So much information to deal with…)

Now we are kind of cool with UI, brightness levels. And we will send to confirm later.

The looking design is supposed to start next week. Hence we can talk about it this week.

More than 500-1000 lights would be helpful to keep it budget.

No problem to send prototype to one of you guys to test first. We send via DHL or UPS which is more expensive but faster.

To make sure the price is as good as possible, we would choose selling the light through our aliexpress store.

It’s not a problem to stock any parts if we get enough interest.

About the name, Sofirn SP70 – BLF Edition would be great. Thanks @JasonWW

UI, levels, Size, design, price. Did we miss something?

Works for me, without the ‘flats’ that is.

I don’t know what it feels like, but it has a nice look to it. It seems pretty much the same as the L6 tube knurling.

I like the L6 knurling look and feel so I think the Q8 knurling will be just fine for the SP70.

Ps, maybe it can use the same threads as the L6 and L2 so the battery tubes can interchange. People already have short L2 tubes. It’s not necessary to have matching threads, but just a thought.

If they use a good FET, bypassed springs and good batteries I would imagine 6000+ lumen, but it’s best to be conservative and aim for 5000 lumen.

The triple version I would estimate at double the output. Maybe more, depending on batteries and such. It may require very high drain 26650.

I’m not sure who would be a good tester of the prototype. It needs to be someone who can look at the driver design closely, measure lumens, measure tail amps, suggest improvements and have lots of experience with many different lights.

Maybe Texas_Ace is a good candidate?

I know there are a lot of choices from past project lights as well.

Maybe Djozz? He was in the Q8 team as well

Yeah, another good choice.

I believe the Q8 knurling is a bit more aggressive, more 3D diamond shaped. I think I prefer it, but just without the flats as I mentioned earlier.

I do not like the flats either, and also I can do without the grooves: just a plain round battery tube with knurling is what I like best

Convoy block-style tube with more aggressive knurling should looks great.

Agree.

How about Maukka?

Here is a review he made, looks very detailed…

So, we want a Foybezel, no excessive cutouts on the head, a uniform knurling on the tube, no thick tailcap, basically we just want this ?

And with fins in the head, its basically a large Eagle Eye /Astrolux/ Kronos / BLF X5/X6

The best knurling I have is the L6 / L2, hands down. Only reason I would say not to use it is that it is in fact used on the L6, a competing light.
