I’m pretty sure you didn’t. Maybe you bought the C4? Wait, are you saying you used two coupons to save $14? So the Amazon price was $30? I have never seen it that low on Amazon. Only on Aliexpress when they had their big 11/11 sale. Do you have a link?

Yes! A C4.

Oh, that is a different model.

Did you mean to buy the high powered 12 amp version C4-12?

Or the lowerer powered 3.2 amp version C4?

The older C4 can be pretty cheap, but it’s not the model we are talking about in this thread.

Still, $16 for the C4 is a really good deal.

Yup, I think I got the lower powered version. It was a little deceiving buying it through the IPad app. I usually charge at 0.5A anyway. Here are the details:

Now, I'll be able to compare the Opus BT-C3100 V2.2 (from Walmart) with this one and perhaps have a better power supply (??) for the Opus from the C4-12.
I can't wait to evaluate all my pack-pull 18xxx batteries and those infamous fake 30Qs from an AliExpress Liitokala store.
Thank you JasonWW!

What’s the promotion?

I didn't really look... A little too late (tired) but I was happy to see it. I'm a Prime member and they're having Prime Day specials but I didn't see any reference to Prime Day/week.

Wow… great price. I suspect this may be the lowest price we have seen of this charger. I paid US$34.xx for mine a few months ago using a discount coupon from a member here, which I was very happy with. It is my go to charger now with its capability to charge all 4 batteries at 3A each!

Nope…I can underbid that price. :sunglasses:
Unfortunately, shipping was not free from Spain to Germany. Actually, the device did not come from Spain but from an Amazon warehouse the day after just some miles away from my home.

I guess these metal 'cradles' at the positive terminal are the temperature interface. Correct?

Yeah, I think that’s the only way it can get a good temperature reading on the cell.

I've been in charger bliss. A new Opus arrived Friday and the C4-12, Saturday. Figuring them each out and the C4-12 is less featured but polished compared to the Opus. I ran almost every battery I have through IR checks, discharged/charged a number of them and all was great. Last night, I used the power bank option to charge my phone with a 26650, and no issues, nada. Until today.

I arrived home and dropped some 18650s in slots 1 & 2, great. Then I noticed slot four indicated a battery was present (no) and "C4 Err" ( https://imgur.com/FVaM3sd )was displayed at the bottom. What the heck?? So I placed a battery in slot 4 (if it's going to indicate one, I'll give it one) and then POP-POOF, white smoke starts flowing from the USB charge port. The room quickly smells of burnt electronics as well as the rest of the house after running it out to the garage. No fire.

I called Amazon and worked out an exchange as I didn't want to lose the good price from Prime Day promotions!

I'm a little groggy from too much fun on the weekend and shocked at this malfunction. I'm not ready to think this one out. Maybe I will tomorrow but can someone just tell me what the heck happened(?)!

Much obliged.

This is the first time I’ve heard of any issue related to the usb output. I’ve never even used that function on mine.

I’m guessing yours had a defect of some kind. Just like what happens to any brand of product.

Even though you got your situation taken care of, I think you should let Sales-Miboxer (member here on the forum) know about it so they can look into it. It’s obviously not a good situation to happen for anyone.

My first C4-12 also had some suspicious behaviour on slot 4. I have put in some Samsung 30Qs with button top. While slot 1-3 were fine, slot 4 indicated an inserted NiMH battery (1.4V) instead of Lithium Ion battery (4.2V). The battery in slot 4 was absolutely okay as I have checked it before and after. I don’t know what would have happened if I had let the charger started to charge. I sent this defect device back to Amazon. Now, some months later I bought another C4-12 and so far, this one seems to work as it is meant to. However, I never charge batteries overnight or in personal absence.

So I been looking around at chargers and have been seeing charge rates of “C”, I have no idea what that stands for or means. Im sure someone here on the BLF does.

I know this is kinda an older thread… But can anyone help me out with understanding this C stuff or send me to a thread that I am having a hard time finding please?

C is capacity. So if a charge rate is 1C on a Samsung 30Q then the 3000mah (3000 milliamp is the same as 3A) rate is 3A.

A 0.5C charge rate means half the capacity. So a 3000mah 18650 would be 1.5A.

A 0.25C rate on a 3000mah is 0.75A.

0.5C on a 5000mah 26650 would be 2.5A.

0.5C on a 1000mah 14500 would be 0.5A.

Get it?

Got it! Thanks Jason.

I bought a c4-12 about 6 months ago from AliExpress, and after a few months it started showing ‘Err’ message for a lot of the batteries that I was putting in. Now it is showing every battery as ‘Err’, doesn’t matter which slot, or which battery. Has anyone else had this problem? BTW, these ‘Err’ batteries charge OK in my NiteCore charger, and work OK in devices.

A person above had that problem. See if cleaning the contacts has any effect. If not, I’d contact the seller or Miboxer.

Thanks for replying Jason. Since posting my question, I belatedly tried the old trick of disconnecting the power pack, and reconnecting it. Bingo … problem solved, all working as it did when brand new. Could have saved myself weeks of fretting!
