In the few months I have been carrying mine I have dropped it a couple of times, all while off. I have had no problems with it and am really enjoying having it in my pocket all the time.

I have had one (now two) SP10a/b since the beginning of the year. I’ve dropped them both more than once without problems.

I did the same with an SF14, and the emitter broke loose of the MCPCB. They sent me a replacement part. Since installing it, I haven’t had any more problems with impact resistance.

I guess I had better change my practice of dropping a new light from about 4 ft to a carpeded floor. I accidently droppes a Quark miniAA on cncrete, but it did not have an effect that I ever noticed.

Mine also got a drop.
Now it seems that the output of each level is constantly flactuating.

I suspected a loose retaining ring but that’s not the case.
Most probably I got some micro cracks in the star or driver.
Will report back if I pinpoint the issue!

No experience with sofirn so Idk what their drivers are like but I had a bout of bad luck with several Sunwayman lights (2 V11R and another 18650 light, maybe the T20C).
I was finally able to pinpoint the issue to bad inductors. They were still securely soldered to the board but bad on the inside.

On that subject, I sent the first V11R back to SWM in China, never got it back. That was 3+years ago, should I still be holding out hope lol?

I just received my Red SP10B a couple of days ago. Great looking little light, and very happy with it so far. Quality looks to be very good, and the UI is fine for me. The 5350-5700K NW tint looks pleasing both inside and outside. Not as bright as my 2 Utorch UT01s and you can’t adjust the output levels like on the UT01, BUT it so far doesn’t have the 14500 battery problem that the UT01s do, and hopefully not the bad parasitic drain either. BTW, does anyone know if the SP10B has noticeable parasitic drain, requiring the tailcap to be loosened to save battery?

Overall, I’m glad I got this light, and I’ll be curious to see how it compares to the Enogear SS 14500 I’m waiting on.

Long time no see.
I actually revisited the light this weekend after having it sitting for quite some time.
In my first inspection (a couple months back) I hadn’t noticed anything, but this time I paid closer attention.
Well, it seems that one of the four corner contacts that binds the two boards together looked a bit crappy.
After reflowing some fresh solder, the SP10b is back to life.

So, if anyone else got similar problems, it might worth reflowing all four of the contacts.

By 2 boards you mean the driver and switch boards?

Mine needed the emitter reflowed . Popped off. Sofirn replaced it without question.
