New Thrunite TH30 Headlamp 3350 lumens!

Nice. I need (want) one of these.

Hows it gonna handle the heat? Looks to be a nearly identical head as the olight h2r and that thing gets hot quick with less lumens.

I really want to see some test on this one. I’ve been using the Acebeam H15 for my indoor inspection work and it’s bright and great for photography given it’s very wide floody beam. However, it does get very hot and the battery doesn’t last very long at all. The annoying low voltage blinks occur too soon for extended use.

Skillhunt H03 and Boruit EHL0628 are both 125 grams with batteries

With or without headstrap?

Some companies quote weight with headstrap (nitecore HC50, thrunite TH20) and others without headstrap (H03). And the strap can weigh between 20 and 50g depending on style. So we really can’t discuss the quoted weights without clarifying.

IMO it’s just the flashlight weight that’s important because the strap weight is distributed around your head and won’t contribute to the light flopping around.

At some point you need to draw the line. It’s more of a pissing contest now, who’s got the bigger numbers. I understand lumens sell that’s why they sell and make lights like this.
How long could you possibly use all 3350 lumens maybe 10-20 seconds if even that before dramatic stepdown? Is it really worth it? It’s more of a bragging right at this point?
Personally as a headlamp user it doesn’t sell me a headlamp.
I don’t even bother to use the turbo setting in my HC33. If it’s a cold day you can run the HC33 at turbo and it just manages to do 30 seconds before going below 1800 lumens. On a hot day good luck. This light looks like same body but with almost twice the power.
Not a stab at Thrunite. Yes I would build a light like this but I would not place it on my head or sell it to an everyday consumer.

I respectfully disagree, for three reasons. First, the 70.2 is produces more lumens per watt than most other emitters, so you’ll get more efficiency at every level, except perhaps firefly/moonlight. Second, the floody beam of the 70.2 in a small reflector is perfect for a headlamp. Third, I frequently use the turbo mode in my ArmyTek Wizard xhp50, for example, when doing snow removal in the dark. We only get about eight or nine hours of daylight during our long winters here in Minnesota. Not sure if Thrunite’s thermal stepdown is time or temperature-based, however.

What ever gains that maybe made by the more efficient emitter will be negated by the boost driver effency making it perform worse then a 3v LED. What numbers are we looking at 80% effency for the boost driver? Considering how small the light is the driver will get extremely hot and become less efficient. Plus voltage sag from the single 18650.

If they where to run multiple 3v LEDs in parallel it would be more efficient.

I’m pre-ordering one with the 20% off discount code.

Edit: Ordered

Same here, ordered neutral white, great price for what you get, and I’ve been very happy with my previous Thrunite purchases.

Happy I could help some here…

There hasn’t been a reason to upgrade for a long time. It’s good to see Thrunite join this niche. We know the mode levels, what about the UI?

I couldnt resist to order one in cool white using 20%.

Yes… we do need a ramping mode on the headlamps… i guess i will settle with the current version…

I love my Emisar D4 Nichia’s Turbo. It happens quite often that I want to see more in a certain direction. It’s often just 2-5 seconds of use. The Turbo mode serves me well.

More like 95% for sustainable levels. Maybe 90% for turbo. See GXB172 for example
Boost drivers are more efficient than linear.

With my recent streak of bad NW tints that were anything but neutral, I wonder what is their NW tint quality. I yet have to see an XHP70.2 NW, that isnt greenish or yelowish.

they dont sell in Europe???

They used to sell via Amazon, but discontinued since a couple of months. I don’t believe there is an official statement, but it probably has something to do with Amazon charging higher fees for sellers.
You can still get Thrunite via other vendors like HKEquipment of course.

i hope so,cos the price isnt bad……

Thrunite claims it will do 3350 lumens for 90 seconds, then it will step down to 1050 lumens for 103 minutes. High is 1275 lumens for 90 minutes. I’m totally fine with those numbers.
