Got mine today and I absolutely love it!

It doesn’t feel cheap at all, it makes quite a worthy, well build impression, the materials used feel solid and the light color (WW) and light distribution are fantastic.

I’m glad tho that it has a USD charging port because the only downside I could find is that it’s quite hard to screw on the “tailcap” to the
battery compartment. If you’re not careful you run the risk at “screwing up” (no pun intended) the threads.

It’s just a little beauty, a real gem!

Cheers,
Nico

Received mine as well today. I didn’t think it was that because the package was coming from a P.O. box in Mississauga, Ontario. It seems that Gearbest use a forwarder in Canada. All my past Gearbest orders came directly from China.

And for those wondering, a protected Panasonic NCR18650-B do fit. I have one in my lantern right now that is 69.9mm long.

Just did a quick test of the battery on my Liitokala 500: i got 2621mAh and a relative low internal resistance of 37mR.

Now I know the Liitokala’s are not accurate in measuring internal resistance at all but it does give a usable indication: about the same internal resistance
as a Panasonic 18650B, so it looks like the cell that came with the lantern is not bad at all and indeed quite usable.

Nico

The spring on the positive I can’t check but the spring on the minus is quite strong and sturdy so, yes, looks to be just fine.

It’s not a special spring or a double one but on a lantern who needs that?

BTW: the magnet in the tailcap is strong enough to hold the lantern upside down in place, nice addition to enhance usability.

Also a great light to use at low setting in WW in your bed room, as I noticed recently….. Big Smile Wink

Nico

Is there anything you can do for people who ordered through the first GB but their T1s weren’t shipped?

I pointed someone to GB and the offer, who placed her order less than an hour after mine (after I tried a 2nd order but the code was rejected as only a one-shot deal), and while mine were delivered Friday, hers still weren’t shipped. She’s understandably upset. Worse, I feel bad that her card was charged and all this time nothing happened and won’t happen ‘til hers may or may not eventually get shipped. Flat Stare

Seeing the listings, one as out of stock, another as discontinued, is kinda worrisome, too, as you might expect.

So maybe a nice word to Someone In Charge at GB might help? Innocent

To be frank, no one will ever know how the goods are being handled. There are simply too many people involve in the chain.

If she no longer wants the lamp, she could request for full refund (provided that order has not been shipped out) anytime. If anyone else wish to receive their T1(s), do continue to wait. I was told that a larger batch will reach by the end of the month.

This is only $10++ order. Please don't stress yourself out. cool

If you're aware, there have been a change in management from a few vendors lately. In fact, this is my very first GB with their new Gearbest rep. I am trying my best to adapt to his working pace. Hopefully, through the success of this Zanflare T1, they will be more willing to support our future request.

It was her first order with GB, and any Chinese store in general, so I had to explain the way things are done there vs the Amazon way. Big Smile

And it was I think 3 T1s, one for herself and 2 as gifts.

I specifically told her to not cancel the order, though, because that would cancel the gb-price, too. Smile

Please do, I missed out on the first round by dithering. Still keen to buy two.

Zanflare T1 came in today. It’s a cute little thing!

Some measurements
CCT range: 2600-5900 K
CRI Ra: 81-86
CRI R9 : 2-25
TM-30 Rf: 81-84
TM-30 Rg: 93-96

All the middle CCT modes are very nice in tint next to the BBL. The extremes are a bit above it, but not bad at duv 0.004 for the cool and duv 0.003 for the warm white.

Color and tint don’t change with brightness, which proves there’s PWM. It’s not an issue though, it’s very fast and only visible to some cameras.

After getting used to the user interface it’s very easy to use. Single tap of top to switch between cool and warm. Hold to change brightness. Double tap to switch to the adjustable CCT mode. Tap and hold to change CCT, release to set. Single tap to confirm, tap and hold to change brightness. I wish it did remember the brightness of the adjustable CCT mode after you go back to the CW and WW presets. Now it blasts full power when you return with a double tap.

Battery end cap gets very hot, some serious losses there. There’s no marking on which way the battery goes in (positive in first).

CRI data in warm white mode

Cool white

Couple of modes in between

Got my two today – great well-thought-out light, from internal charging to hanger clip to cool/warm/red modes to magnetic base – these are a home-run, super-useful.

Looks like we need to bypass that tailcap spring.

Yep, probably do. As maukka said, it get’s pretty hot down there.
