Try buying two… last time there was free shipping on 2 or 4 being purchased. Makes no sense, but that is how it was.
Got mine today. 2 quick questions:
1. Is the included battery any good? Or should it just be chucked? (I only have 30Q as spares and it seems like a waste to use them on this lantern)
2. Does it have LVP?
I’m using mine… so far so good.
Not sure about the LVP.
Previous reports show it to be a good battery.
I’m not sure about the lvp.
Thanks Jason and Teacher, appreciate the replies
Interested. Thank you freeme.
Both questions answered.
Just did a quick test of the battery on my Liitokala 500: i got 2621mAh and a relative low internal resistance of 37mR.
Now I know the Liitokala’s are not accurate in measuring internal resistance at all but it does give a usable indication: about the same internal resistance
as a Panasonic 18650B, so it looks like the cell that came with the lantern is not bad at all and indeed quite usable.Cheers,
Nico
Low Voltage Protection kicked in at 3.07V and 3.15V. A bit on the safe side, but that’s perfectly OK with me. :+1:
Cheers

This is a great little lantern, loving mine
Wow, everybody descended on them like ants on a sugarcube…
Yes, about 15 pieces are made available again. Could be those added to cart but yet to checkout?
Thanks,
I just ordered one
(thought it would be unfair to buy more when only 15 lanterns are available)
And shipped within 3 hours.
It doesn’t matter it is on the slow boat from china.
Some mentioned the tailcap getting warm/hot, it seems it is a feature.
Fenix says about his CL25R ($60 ):
- Excellent cold-resistant design. The Zanflare has a similar construction with a metal tube inside.
And other stuff I found interesting about the Fenix:
- Red light preserves night vision and doesn’t atract flies.
- RobertB has a review about CL25R and clones. He uses some Lee filters to get a better tint on all lamps.
I have the Fenix CL25R and the Fenix CL30R lanterns. They are the best in class as far as I’m concerned, and have a nice neutral white tint to the light. I picked up a two CL25R clones several months back, both under $10. The most notable problem with the clones is the ugly cool blue tint. As far as I’m concerned, there is nothing worse in a campground then seeing people with their cheap blue LED lanterns everywhere. A 3000k light is so much more soothing and relaxing, which is what camping is s…

- ” I picked up some Lee filter material. 205 Half C.T. Orange Gel sheet from Knight Sound and Lighting This gel is supposed to correct 6500k light to 3800k tungsten light. I cut the gel wrap with a paper cutter in a strip to 2 5/16” wide, and scotch taped it to the clone lantern. ”
