ThruNite Catapult V6 XHP35 HI

That one has the BBL and CCT lines at the wrong position. Here’s is an updated one.

I’ve already changed the graph.

I already have my V6 and have made measurements. The color temperature changes quite significantly, depending on the power. At low power is 4750K but in turbo we already have 5432K. Fortunately, it does not irritate me.

dzien dobry!

I Primarily use mine on Turbo, constantly stepping up from high. Mine is NW and since it is on turbo I do not notice any color temp. changes!

dziekuje bardzo!

how did you remove the bezel?

Wood piece 51-52mm fits nicely into the bezel and non-slip mat between wood piece and bezel ring for grip. Press and turn.

Some people just place a non-slip mat on table, turn light upside down on mat, press and turn.

Thank you for that tip, pc_light!

Picked up the Thrunite 26650 pair a while ago, and they are my go to lights every time now. The V6 in NW wasn’t available yet, but I didn’t think it would matter so grabbed the CW while they were 20% off.

So it turns out that I dislike CW. I don’t know when I realized it, or why I don’t like it…every time I was out with a couple of lights I was always using the NW, and even messing around sitting on the deck I didn’t like the CW lights very much.

Anyways, I received the NW Catapult V6 yesterday and the hotspot is noticeably smaller then the CW version. It seems to throw as far (cell tower ~730m) and spill seems identical, just the hotspot is larger on the CW. Is this to be expected between CW and NW? Or just one of those manufacturing tolerance things?

The warmer tint is usually less bright, the hot spot is captured by the camera a bit easier and doesn’t blow out as much , making it look smaller. The same emitter should have the same size hot spot, as it’s emission angle is the same regardless of color.

So you have a Catapult V6 in CW you are selling?

Hmmm, the camera actually makes the NW hotspot look larger in the ceiling photo I think. I took a couple of terrible iPhone pics lighting up the side of the quonset at 43m, and the CW still looks larger I think…

Not a big deal, more of a curiosity maybe as the NW lights up the cell tower equally as well as the CW. I’m sooo new at flashlights everything seems to have a question attached to it.

And I suppose i will have a CW V6 for sale. I hadn’t given too much thought to what will happen to all of the excess lights I’m bound to end up with. I’m only at 15 total so far, with only a few sideways glances from wifey when I carry another small unmarked package home from the post office.

Thrunite does not respect its European customer. We cant buy on their website anymore, cant enjoy the 20% off coupon. What a shame

Thrunite sucks! their loss i guess, i mean who says no to more money ?

Amazon Us ships to UK, maybe Sweden?

Could the driver be installed in a other light with e switch? what size is the driver?

Has anybody tried an xhp70 led in the Catapult v6? Looks like it could make a nice single cell host with some throw.

I’ve gone as large as XHP-50.2 FWIW.

Took it from long distance pencil beam to wider beam medium range, better suited for my preference.

I am thinking of going XHP70 to my old U21  for the same reasons.

not sure why u want such a big emitter ? it wont be a really good thrower with tight hotspot.

What mcpcb did you use and how did you center it?

Not looking to make it into a thrower.
I would have two, one with XHP35 for tight hotspot throw, and one with XHP70 for added lumens, efficiency, and better illumination up close.
I find most XHP70 lights too floody, so this could be a nice compact host that still has some throw.

okay, otherwise have a look on astrolux ft02, it has the xhp70.2 and similar size, maybe someone posted beam pics there to give u an idea.
