Acebeam X70 - 40000 lm - 8*18650 - Active fan cooling

Fans shouldn’t even an issue when can simply buy a quality fan and design their light around it.

I don’t think any of those fans are small enough. The smallest I saw was 60mm. For a flashlight you need much smaller, like 30mm. I didn’t see that, at least for under $45. I stopped looking after that as the sizes kept going up.

Surely somebody makes IP68 rated fans in smaller sizes, right?

I do spot some 40mm in the $55 range. That’s still pretty big.

Interesting that some people always seem to have all the issues.

Do you mean people or companies?

I think we are just guessing about the issues Acebeam is having.

I’ve always claimed it doesn’t favour flooders because of the Pre-diffused tube sidewalls absorbing spill/flood but people on here can’t be educated and scammers are free to scam.

About the fans, in the german video u can clearly see, it looks 30 or 40mm ? if the final will have those who knows…

What they should also do is some form of oled display or something like imalent or olight to show output etc? if just a button and its gonna glow red when low battery thats kinda weird for a light of this size…

Even with the fans it’ll be quieter than the 3000k Convoy S2+

Has it been confirmed the X70 is getting a boost towards 50,000 lumens?

Hello KG_Tuning, you have made your thoughts on the TA Tube abundantly and redundantly clear. Any further comments by you on this subject will only serve to stir the pot and generate arguments, so please drop the subject in all threads on this forum. Thank you.

If the same driver and emitters used in a super wide flood host and a thrower host results in about the same lumens measured in the TA tube, that clearly shows the TA tube doesn’t favor flooders or throwers. Really how difficult is that to understand? If you refuse to use reason and logic, there is no way we can help you get to the bottom of your issues.

Sorry sb56637, I was trying to give a few facts to help KG clear his misunderstanding of the TA tube but now realizes it is futile. I won’t continue this discussion further.

LOL I thought the exact same thing when I saw him in another thread.

I just realized this light isn’t going to be like a brighter X65. I was hoping for a high lumen thrower like, “And f••• that guy in particular waaaay over there.” But looking at the reflectors it’s going to be more like an Emisar D1S is trying to escape getting eaten by an X80.

Still excited but maybe not the instabuy I thought it was going to be.

None of these 20k lumen and up lights are really throwers. You need to have a certain emitter die size to reflector size ratio for good throw.

Now if each 70.2 had a 2.5”–3” reflector, then you’d get some pretty good throw, but the head size would be huge!

I was going through the throwers on parametrek when I realized the X65 had more throw than the X70 and I thought, “Wait wait wait. What?” And that’s when I finally looked at the head of the X70 and realized just how monstrous an X70 would have to be if each LED had a reflector like the X65 does. It would have to be vehicle roof mounted!

Imagine an X65 with the head size of a 4Sevens XM18.

It would have 12 slightly bigger reflectors, instead of the 18 smaller ones you see in the pic.

Where do I write the check out to? (Just kidding my wife would kill me.)

Edit: would be a great recommendation for all the people asking for a “self defense flashlight.” “Buy this thing, it’s a medieval mace with +3 fire damage.”

Isnt lights like this meant to just shoot tons of light like crazy vs throw very long? not really like throwers even tho this one is gonna go for like 1km it still impressive but u wont get that tight beam tho. Also u can take a swing at someone in case self defense would be needed lol… Im curious how the final version will be like and if they ditched the fans it means they had same issues olight had…

Possible radiator and coolant?

Wrong way, they want to make it simpler, not more complicated. BTW, it would still need fans for the radiator.

What other ways are there to actively cool besides using fans?
I hope they dont do passive cooling

That’s the only practical way to do it.
