Lifes disasters seem to follow me around.

Holy crap, I hope you can find a way through this!

It sounds like there may be some ideas posted above in case you haven’t already explored those… but mostly I hope you’re doing okay and your luck will take a turn for the better.

Wait, this sounds like loan sharking.

I hope all goes well for you.

Love it. :money_mouth_face:

Really sorry to hear Den. Take care mate.

Sorry to hear. Keep your chin up.

I have no idea about Canadian law, but in many states if the debt was incurred after the split was made then said debt belongs solely to the partner responsible for creating it.

This is something you definitely need to discuss with your attorney.

Hi DBSAR,

I have only been on this forum for a very short time, but I gather you are one of the most liked and respected members.
I can only wish you well, and hope everything improves for you in the future.

Aw man, I’m really sorry to hear this. Thanks for letting us know. Glad to hear you’re taking it in stride and finding ways to move forward. We’ll see you around here!

Marriage is a gamble. You can win big and lose big. With 40% to 50% ending in divorce or worse, it is tough making it work.
My wife is my High School Sweetheart, known her since the 4th grade but never dated until my senior yr. We have separated 3 times, once for 2yrs, but slowly started dating again. This August 31st will be our 40th together. Marriage is never perfect, but I would do it all again, but with different decisions of course. There are times I wish I had not married and my wife feels the same way too, to be free and single and younger, LOL …. But when you see her with her grandchildren, you know that’s not really true. Life is like Poker, you have to play the cards your delt, the trick is to keep on smiling in the rain and sunshine….

I am Happy for you “atbglenn” and a lot of us envy you and respect that decision to not marry.
I know for a fact there would be many many more flashlights on the shelf if I were single

Sorry to hear that. :frowning: . Hang in there…… :+1:

My girlfriend feels the same as I. We love eachother’s company, but when it comes to finances, we live in two seperate worlds. I don’t get involved with hers, and she doesn’t get involved with mine. This has worked for us for many years.

All the best!

Maybe start a GoFundMe so BLF’ers can chime in to try to help you out? I’ll be the first to donate!

With this guys luck, half the donations would end up going to his wife in the divorce. :confounded:

Since money is tight right now, concentrate on the necessities…food, rent and clothing, especially a t-shirt that says “I’m single”

I’d donate, but only I knew all the money was going to you, not her.

:+1:

I tried marriage once for a few years 45 years ago but soon found I had rather drink out of the milk jug and piss off the porch……plus she cheated on me.
You are better off getting a couple of dogs…… they will always love you no matter what you do. :smiling_imp: And mine never learned to gamble, except for crossing the road and playing with rattlesnakes. :disappointed:

The secret to a long happy marriaage is to love your mate more than you love self. We are Christians and it is Christ first, other second, and self last. On Nov 12th we will celebrate 64 years.

It is always tragic when a couple divorces or separates. It is very difficult for children and adullts.

I too am sorry to learn of it, DBSAR. I pray you two can reconcile truly.

Jerry

Hey Jerry, I thought I was old! I’m 66.
DBSAR, we’re all with you on this. I will chip in if a gofundme thingy is created for you. I promise…

Hi atbglenn. Old compared to whom?

We all hate to see such things as this. Sometimes it is hard to reconcile, but we can pray for it to happen.
BTW, I am only 86 this month. I believe that in human history no one has ever had a wife as wonderful as mine.

But when we married I got a Princess, and she got a frog. The kisses have not turned the frog into a prince, but we enjoy trying.

Not trying to make light of DBSAR’s situation and wish I had the answers at this point in time.

We had Chinese food yesterday and ate a dish named for the two of us; Sweet and Sour!
