Looks like a great cell. High energy density (215 Wh/kg at 1A) and good discharge capability.

It’s not a Samsung 40T, based on this test:

The 40T has less capacity and a lower IR.

Why is 20A still considered to be “high discharge” for a 21700? I thought we were already getting better than that with some 18650 cells. This does seem to be a good cell overall, but I don’t understand calling it “high discharge” in this context.

High discharge depends on how many C’s you discharge with, 2C is the (old) standard, when you get higher you are getting into high discharge, I do usual not call 3C or 4C high discharge, but much above that and it is high discharge.

Looking at the discharge image, I saw similarity to Samsung’s footprint …. in general ….

Of course, Lishen’s construction is not excluded, as the positive and negative poles look very much like Lishen 4000 (Basen 4000, Liitokalla 4000 ….)

Well, you are probably right. Besides the well-known 4000mAh LR2170SA (the cell used in LiitoKala Lii-40A), LISHEN also offers another model called LR2170SF. This appears to be the cell used in this Shockli, so I have ordered some LR2170SF from a China dealer to try out…

I could not find any info about particular cells on the lishen website. Could you post the relevant pages with info about the lishen cells? Thanks.

I purchased 5 LR2170SF at 18650batterystore.com after reading Mooch’s review saying it is the best high capacity 21700 to date outperforming the LG M50 and Samsung 50E and 50E2

Here are my capacity measurements:

Cell 1: 4,782 mah
Cell 2: 4,714 mah
Cell 3: 4,698 mah
Cell 4: 4,524 and 4,566 mah (measured twice)
Cell 5: 4,834 and 4,870 mah (measured twice)

They are only being sold for a super bargain $5.99 right now. I also tested them in the Fireflies E07 and the LR2170SF outputs higher than the Samsung 50E and LG M50. Get them before they sell out or price increase!

With which “charger/discharger/analyzer” did you perform the Lishen LR2170SF cell test capacity measurements? SkyRC MC3000?

I bought these from Gearbest, but the diameter is 21,7 mm and they do not fit my new Convoy L21a.

Does anyone know the cells are rewrapped or if there is still the old wrapper underneath?

Shockli is not a manufacturer.
The battery manufacturer is Lishen from China (Lishen LR2170SF).
Chinese batteries are larger in thickness and length, compared to the batteries of major manufacturers.

I’m sorry for your bad experience, the diameter of the shockli 21700 battery is 21.7mm,

the diameter of samsung ,LG ,SONY 21700 is 21.3mm, these 21700 will fit your flashligth

I bought Samsung 40T cells from NKON.NL and they are smaller and even fit in my Li-500 charger, which the Shockli didn’t.

The measured capacity ratings for this cell seem to vary wildly. From what I see in HKJ's data, even if discharged at 0.2C (barely any difference versus 1A) down to 2.5V I'd say HKJ's cells would have clocked somewhat above 4400mAh. But then, according to Mooch's review of the Lishen LR2170SF a few months later, I guesstimate he measured a hair above 4300mAh at 5A (4307.1̅4̅2̅8̅5̅7̅mAh LoL) according to the test graph there:

… while he claimed “The two cells I tested delivered 4728mAh and 4791mAh at 0.9A (0.2C) down to 2.5V” in his review.

Seriously? This seems to be wrong.

HKJ's cells would have reached ≈4450mAh what I said above if discharged down to 2.5V at 1A.

Then, looking at Mooch's graph while imagining the shape of the 0.9A curve, I hardly see the capacity much above 4500mAh down to 2.5V.
