12V Battery Tender Jr for $18.69 on eBay

A good deal for Deltran-Battery-Tender-Junior-Jr-12V-Battery-Maintainer-Chargers shipped from the US on ebay. Price is $18.69, but seller is allowing only one per customer.

I have one of these connected to a garage queen, and it does a good job of keeping the battery fully charged. See Amazon reviews.

I’ve had one for 6+ years, for topping off my solar mother batteries during non-hurricane season.

I wish I’d have gotten the 1.5A version, but 750mA doesn’t take long to top off my 22Ah/12Ah jobbies.

Hey Chris. I found that the 750 mA Tender Jr is adequate for maintaining a car battery in storage. But it should stay permanently connected. This not only keeps the vehicle ready to go, but extends the life of the battery.

I agree 100% and it’s perfect for my smaller AGM/SLA batteries.

I did try charging up a car battery that was down and that didn’t turn out so well, lol.

Right tool for the job and all that noise.

I’ve since bought a Shumacher for that purpose.

We’re coming into the heart of hurricane season, so I have to get my BT Jr. out and top them all off. Thanks for the reminder!

Chris

Does anyone know the AC input voltage? I hope it’s Autovolt (110-220v) as in my country we have 220vac.

I purchased this standard Battery Tender back in the 90’s to keep my winterized Mustang GT’s battery in good shape. Still works like a charm.

@atbglenn: Can you check its input voltage?

Some years ago, a photo site featured a DIY battery pack for shoe mount electronic flashes. It used a Battery Tender of some sort, but only for 6v. batteries. Do they even make those any more? I have the urge to try to build an auxiliary battery pack for my flash units.

It doesn’t say. I would think it only runs off 120 volts. The manual is long gone.

My BT Jr. states “120v, .18A, 60Hz.”

Output is 12v at 750mA.

Chris

Thanks to you both gentlemen!

Now that I think about it, it definitely only runs off 120 volt circuits since it has a power transformer and no switchable primary winding.

FYI, seems like price went up.
