Whatever happened to Elektrolumens?

He had some interesting lights, even if I couldn’t afford them! He’s sort of disappeared.

This link, post 34 will tell you what happened to Electrolumens.

I hadn’t heard of Elektrolumens, so I clicked MRsDNF’s link to learn more.

I tried to visit the website linked in the post, but got a DNS error.

Turns out there’s a typo in his link. Here’s the correct Elektrolumens.com page.

So he is back in the flashlight business?

Chris

I don’t know, but the bottom of his webpage says it was last updated about a month ago, which seems promising.

He’s got a few items listed with prices, and says to email him to place an order.

I had not heard of him or his lights before, but they look neat!

:smiley:

MRs DNF;
O.K., Thanks!
His Angelux lights are something I’ve always been interested in…I got an issue angle-head Fulton, and modded it the easy way, with a drop-in LED. Bright, LOOOONG run time, and some utility as an impact weapon,should the need ever arise. :wink:

I had a chance to work on an Elektrolumens light once, and I have a drop-in triple puck from him for a D Maglite. The light I worked on was machined ruggedly tough, the proverbial tank, but his electronics were ultra conservative to the point of having way way long small gauge wires to limit current. He had larger wires to one switch for high, long small wires to another switch for low. It was a mess inside there and the owner really despised the light for it’s low output vs high cost. I returned it to him pulling 21A and making serious lumens. :smiley:

Edit: It was the Search and Rescue Bruiser with SST-90 I worked on for my friend. And I had bought a few of those “Moli” cells from Wayne (still have them, in fact, unused in the cell overage case) but never found them all that impressive. Mind you, the target is different. Some people (like Wayne) want long run time. I want output, sheer unadulterated output, run time I can manage with more cells. :wink:

According to the forum software, he was last seen here two weeks and five days ago.
