No, just the light, diffuser, and holster for me. Paid on 07/13, so not exactly front of the line, but not at the back, either.

Oh man, I hope the 18350 cells aren’t why mine is so delayed. If that’s the case I probably won’t receive mine for at least another couple weeks.

I got mine today in the USA so maybe the rest of the USA orders will show up soon.

Here are my measurements from a stock CW GT Mini using a Samsung 30Q.

Tail amps @30s using UT210E:

Top of ramp – 2.85A
Turbo – 5.5A
Parasitic drain normal – 0.18mA
Drain with switch led off- 0.02mA

Candela @30s and 10 meters using LX1330B:

GT Mini – 148kcd = 769m
Convoy C8 xm-l2 CW – 39kcd = 395m
Stock GT – 1.05mcd = 2,049m

Lumens using Texas_Ace Lumen Tube calibrated from Maukka’s S2 plus CW:

GT Mini:
Top of ramp:
turn on 720 lm
@30s 705 lm

Turbo:
turn on 1240 lm,
@30s 1200 lm

Convoy C8 xm-l2 CW
turn on 850 lm,
@30s 785 lm

I would take my lumen measurements with a grain of salt. My tube had to be really dialed down to read accurately to Maukka’s calibration light. I’m still working on this. Even so, 1200 lumen is pretty much on spec. I’m sure other lumen tubes and devices will read higher, maybe much higher. No doubt that the 148kcd @30s is quite impressive. Higher than spec. Thumbs Up

This is a very impressive light. It truly blows away my Convoy C8.

Someone asked me if the Mini really does blow away the C8. I went and took some pictures, but the question got deleted.

Anyway, here is a comparison of the hot spots at a reduced level, but the same relative brightness as if both were on turbo. You can clearly see the Mini has a much smaller, tighter and intense hot spot.

In this picture I had both lights on turbo and the camera sensitivity turned way down. The C8 looks like a corona that is missing the hot spot. Big Smile

So yeah, the mini really does blow it away.

Yes, protected seem to fit fine. I have a 69mm Keeppower 8A protected Sanyo GA 3500 and a 69.5mm Evva 7A protected Panny B 3400.

The tail springs can collapse down really far so that shouldn’t be an issue.

The thing you should be aware of is the amp draw on your protected cells. If their protection circuitry is only 3 amp then you may not be able to run the GT mini on Turbo.

I measured my Evva at 4.1v and got 2.2A top of ramp and 4A on turbo.

My KeepPower at 4.1v got 2.2A top of ramp and 4.3A on turbo.

Martin or Neal, can you clarify if it will have the big letters on the battery tube? This is a last minute change that really bothers me.

I know I gave Lumintop a hard time about adding the big logos on both sides of the battery tube, but after holding the light in my hand and seeing just how small the logos actually are it doesn’t bother me. So I overreacted a bit.

I showed the big and little GT to my cousin and he said cool. Then I showed him both versions with the short battery tubes. He could help but giggle just like me. It’s a cute little sucker. Lol

I’m sure there wouldn’t be such a huge difference if you had an Astrolux C8 with FET driver and xpl-hi. Mine is a regular Convoy C8 with 8 × 7135 = 2.8A with dome-on xml2 U2-1A and Guppydrv.

Sorry about that.  I edited it and hit the delete button instead of the save button.  Not the first time I've done that!

Wow, those pics say it all thanks   The difference between the mini and C8 is significant, thanks JasonWW.  I'm just about to order the mini after looking at the comparison shots.

That’s an XM-L based C8, right? The difference is still impressive, but it needs to be pointed out that a modern XP-L HI C8 would outperform the C8 in the photo by a decent margin.

Good point as I have both and my XP-L HI C8 is quite a bit brighter than my XM-L C8.

I just added the distances to the candela ratings. The C8 got 395 meters, the Mini got 769 meters. That’s almost double the distance! It’s like a C8 on steriods. Lol

Yeah I'm sold, it looks like a real solid light.  I probably asked this before and forgot, but do you know if it has enough room to run the protected 18650's?  I have many of those around.

Thanks, I have the protected Keeppower GA's as well so all is good.  Have many protected NC18650B's  but I think they trip at 4.75A or close to that which might be pushing it for this light.

Guys, do you think I would gain more lumens by replacing the double springs with my BeCu springs, or would the forward voltage of the LED be too high for any meaningful gain?

I would like to know.

Couldn’t hurt.

It’s the single driver spring that would most benefit.

It looks like the xpl can survive up to 8 or 9 amps before burning out. I’m getting 5.5A stock. I don’t plan to mess with it, but if you bypassed or replaced the driver spring you might see 6A or more. Peak power for the xpl seems to be at 7A, but the heat is massive.

DB Custom stuck a killer Samsung 30T cell on his and got and extra 250 lumen so I would say there’s a bit more output left.

Yes it has big difference:

My C8 intensity and throw numbers to compare:
XM-L2 2.8A: 32.5 kcd 360m
XP-L HI 2.8A: 54.5 kcd 464m
XP-L HI 5.9A TA17 fet: 93.1 kcd 610m

Those last two are pretty close. I wonder why the Mini beats your last one? It seems like a beast.

Maybe it’s the reflector? It’s slightly wider, 39mm to 33mm and about 9mm deeper. The mini has an AR lens, my C8 doesn’t. This might give it a definite advantage.

It is definitely the reflector diameter that counts. But the last two has AR coated lens. Forgot to mention.
My Emisar D1S with XP-L HI has 124.1 kcd and 704m stock
but with the same dedomed SST40 what was in the C8 I got 160.6 kcd and 801m

There’s no need to talk like that.
