Somewhat nice, you seem to have found your grail knife, congratulations

For this price I’d rather got for titanium though, like one of those Fura Kwaikens

To each their own I guess

I took a peep at the inside of my Sanrenmu 9018:

Today, another knife… the Cold Steel Finn Hawk.

Still slaying some pork meat :smiling_imp:

It’s like the finn wolf converted to a fixed knife. Or a mora from Cold Steel

I have the Stainless blade model. Excellent! :star: :+1:

Hi everyone. I just made a deep comparison about these two Land-Sanrenmu models. Which one is the best for me?. I hope you like it:

Hey.

Sorry for the late reply, but my kid got sick and I only saw the replies on my phone, but I am borderline dyslexic typing on mobile, so I rather waited to comment from the computer. There's nothing like an old keyboard!

Anyway.. GB had free shipping (in the folding knifes at least) for a long time.

Maybe it's just we (me?) who are not accustomed to pay huge shipping fees (sometimes the shipping cost as much as the knife..) and rather search for valued priced items, sometimes the eventual bargain, but never paying as much for the shpping as for the stuff itself.

Ofc the " free shipping " is a myth; we always pay for the shipping but in the asian markets the price is mostly dissipated with the product price.

I pretty much stand where you are regarding the FT.

As for now, I am on standby and won't be buying more knifes anytime soon. And by soon, I mean this month.

I am still waiting for a knife I purchased last month. Hope it arrives asap! It's my first from that particular brand, so can't wait to check it out and see whats all the fuss about it! :D

Either way, just for reasearch purposes, it would be of a great value to know alternatives to the more mainstream Gearbest and Fasttech.

Hi mate.

Only read this comment now.

Thanks for the tip! No, I am not in "rush"; the only issue is the model I was after might get discontiued, as it seems to be in other sites already. Maybe i'll try FT if they happen to have some deal in the Labour Day.

For me it’s good actually. I’ve bought some cheap knives already, right now I’m more interested in finer stuff.
Traditional knives do it to me atm, but I’d more like a knife kit and build it myself. I did regrinds and CF scales, etching and stonewashing and Ti anodizing on modern folders, now it’s time for slipjoints
Still I order with free shipping. 10 alligator clips for $1.49 on the bay? Sure shipping is subsidised by China.

Sanrenmu S725 and S625 comparison. Here is my review.

I'm kinda cheap when it comes to folders. I'd rather have a few that I can rotate as EDC, without the fear of losing any of them and being able to have 10 instead of just one or two expensive knifes.

I've been reading some older posts and for someone like you, the tradicional path, is only the natural way to go. Mad skills with the steel!

In the meanwhile, received the order I've been waiting for.: a SRM, more precisely a Land 910 Plus.

But what I got instead is a Land 911 ????

Like I said before, this is my first SRN knife. And I've never heard of a Land 911. At first sight the measures are accuarte with the 910 plus description, the action is smooth, it has the blue details on the thumbstuds and lanyard hole, the detent is not to strong (I can flick open the knife with gravity - not very strong arm movement), the scales are grippy like I read about, liner lock adequate, the spine of the blade is rounded and the and the fit and finish seems actualy above some Ganzos I own, the blade is also centered, but whats up with the 911? Have you seen one of these before? Fake/ Legit?

I do not have any other 910 plus neither I have seen one before to compare, so I thought I ask in this thread where the experts are frolicking around, is this 15 usd knife being counterfeit now? Was this a factory mislabeling mistake? What the hell have I in hands?

Sure I can take more pics of one particular part, shall you need to see it in further detail.

Off to the beer.

I have never heard of Land 911 until now. A quick search reveals a listing on topomart: (I also include link to 910Plus for comparison)

It looks identical to the 910 Plus in every way. My guess is that they simply decided to rename the green model so that the green and black no longer share same model name. (to avoid confusion)

If you post more pictures I will compare to my 910 Plus to ensure authenticity. But I doubt there is any problem.

That Outright looks nice.

If it didn't have a G10 overlay, I'd probably pick one up.

I like the 9015 and 9002. I was hoping the 9015 was a little longer, even the 9103 is not very long.

Can be a bad unit? i read good things about 9015.

Don’t get me wrong; 9015 is very good in most aspect. Just the edge grind on mine is very bad (not even, not straight, not symmetric). I think it was grind by Stevie Wonder. Maybe 1 bad unit - you can buy and tell me.

(However I report many months ago that 8103 was very difficult to open…now everybody say the same, so not just ‘bad unit’)

I suspect that the best ‘craftsmen’ in Sanrenmu are now employed on the production line which makes Real Steel, Ruike, SRM (international version) etc.
The ones who make cheap Asian Sanrenmu (sold by GB etc) are now the beginner employees. Just my guess. In past year or two I have seen many poor quality Sanrenmu. Whereas several years ago, every knife I bought was very well made.

My last review was the Land-sanrenmu 9103 vs 8103 and i can say that the blade retention is almost similar in both but once you apply the neccesary force to win to the retention, the smoothness of the 9103 is A LOT better than in 8103. But both are hard to open.

That is my opinion.
