I would normally only wait up until 2 months max before making complaints. However, I had given up on HL redeeming themselves because of the whole sc26 debacle with Terry. But HL pulled through and released the sc26 (improved from the original specs as well) and thanks to Freeme we even got a nice discount. So I am willing to give HL and Dale the benefit of the doubt and wait. It also helps that I ended up buying one of TA’s handmade drivers as well and I don’t “need” the replacement driver. I might end up donating my replacement driver to a BLF member who needs it, if I get the driver earlier than other members.

How is it even possible for a mailed item to take two months? Some discount shipping that puts stuff on a round the world container ship that is near Antarctica now? Sitting in some container in Hong Kong waiting an empty spot on a two prop airplane? Some bike courier pedaling towards Europe? How is two months or longer even possible (if shipped) without artificially delaying it or just sitting in some warehouse next to the Ark of the Covenant??

When I'm spending mony foolishly, I like to do it wi$ely...

I have all the flashlights I need, but not as many as I want...

I am only asking someone from HL or Dale give us update. How long are they expecting us to wait? How about if pay them a few months after I received the light?

I’m not naive to believe that the driver actually shipped out 2 months ago and it’s in limbo somewhere. I’m just saying that I believe that HL will fulfill their promise on the replacement driver, eventually. However, it’s easy for me to say since I already dished out extra money for a replacement driver and I have a working light.

Hi Lexel,
Does your driver work for both the MT09 70xhp and 35xhp models or will there be one for each of those two models? Also, what is the exact difference between yours and TA’s driver with regards to performance.

Thank you!

This is just XHP70

I have a 7.5A Buck driver for XHP35s, then you can bridge springs without killing the LEDs

Is the driver supposed to ship out 2 months ago? Dale emailed me over 2 months ago about my replacement driver is on its way. I emailed him again a few days ago no response.
I have nothing against Dale, I am just asking some customer service.

He told me not only that he will ship one to me, he told that he had shipped a driver to me 2 months ago and if I have received it. I dont know what to belive. But he will resend a driver.

With the flashlight itself I got a shipping confirmation with tracking number before C-New-Year but after asking him after his holliday, it was sent out (after CNY) as I have seen it in the tracking informations. There may be some reason for this delay and perhaps he didnt told the truth because he wanted to keep his face.
Perhaps he has much to do and no spare time and thats why something takes a bit longer.

With the driver and the communication about, maybe it is similar. But I find it realy good and honorable, that he still answers our emails (better late as never) and he want to ship it. He could have been ignoring our mails and keep the drivers.
He did not answered my BLF-PNs but after writing a mail I got this answers within some days.
I hope you other guys will get answers too. And I hope we will get the better driver soon.

Dale, if you are reading this. Are you going to take care of the business or just ignore everyone? You need to let us know if you have a hard time to get the replacement driver to us.

It appears we’ve been ignored.

Anyone have a suggestion on what to do with this light? I’d like to replace the driver at least, possibly the LEDs. I don’t want to spend a ton more on this lemon though. Is there anything readily available or will we have to get something custom?

Dale email me last week to let me know he had re-ship my replacement driver. I think he is using Hk post so no tracking number. According to him I should receive it in 20 to 35 days. Hopefully it will arrive this time.

You can message Lexel about a replacement driver, but he might be out of commission since he had surgery on his hand. I don’t think TA has any drivers left but you can always ask. TA was modding the MT09R for a fee, so he might still continue to do so.

I messaged Dale about the driver again, so I’ll let you guys know if he responds. But at this point, I don’t expect to receive a replacement driver from HL.

Sadly I am sold out of drivers at the moment but if there is enough interest I can look into getting another batch.

I had assumed everyone would have drivers from Dale by now so I planned my last batch to run out before that happened so I would not be stuck with them.

Don’t hold your breath…

Haikelite doesn’t seem to care about their customers at all. We bought the light, that seems to be enough for them. I held off on getting a TA driver because I chose to put my faith in Haikelite but they burned me yet again and now it’s too late. I’m stuck with a lemon of a light. Hopefully one day I can figure out a way to put this waste of a light to good use, as for now, the only decent thing I have from it is the batteries…

I’ll never, ever buy another Haikelite, I’ll recommend no one else does as well. Them’s the breaks.

Looks like Haikelite is overwhelmed these days.

I received a driver and reflector from him a month after I sent the payment for my Haikelite MT01. They actually sent me 2 of each, leaving a message saying:

Thank you for your patience. We are sorry at Haikelite to have cause some problems, along with some human external factors. We have sent you 2x order to make up We have a lot of work. I hope you will forgive us, with MT09R, SC26 taking almost all of our time.

I wouldn’t break trust over this. Happens. However

The thing that really burns me (pun intended) is that there is a better, fixed version that has been offered and delivered for a lower price than us early adopters could have had the light.

I want to like this light. I love the form factor, it could be great, but it isn’t. Haikelite promised to fix it but they haven’t.

Yep. It is really annoying.

However, I think there is something that we don’t know with Dale and Haikelite.

I do understand your concerns however.

If we could get together enough people, maybe we could have a run of custom drivers done. How many people would be interested? What are people willing to pay?

If there was enough demand I could put together another batch of drivers as well.

I just generally don’t make less then 25-50 of a driver at a time.
