[Available again! - BLF special edition light] new Sofirn AAA twisty high CRI 5mm LED

Interested in one 5600K. Thanks.

The list is updated through post 685 (GreenLights). Total is now up to 496 lights.

Shortcut to the Interest List.

Just noting that I have recorded these updates. Thanks.

FYI, I’m counting quantities by the minimum interest stated, so I have you updated for 4+1 at the moment.

Based on your follow up post, I have you for 2 of each. We’ll find out actual purchase details from Sofirn once they’re ready.

Hopefully slowtechstef has time to update the first page soon, but in the meantime, I will try to keep crucial details in the post with the current list on page 10.

And here are the Monday morning results:

Thanks Docc!

Assuming that the 38 respondents are representative of the about 250 people from the interest list (there is no other possibility than to do that) it sounds like I will ask for the magnet hole and for no trit hole (I will have to find another use for the three trits that I still have).

Let’s wait for the results of the other poll and see if those agree with these.

Why no trit slot? The majority says i do not care. Only 1/3 says no.

And less than 1/3 says yes. Or do I interpret it wrong?

I didn’t answer the poll due to some reasons:
I don’t actually mind if it will have tritium slot or magnet hole as I don’t know if I will have a trit to put in there, and I don’t know if I will want a magnet there or not.

Both things will be assessed when the flashlights arrive to my hands and then I will decide.

If, one the one hand, I’d prefer not to have a magnet installed as “stock” , one the other hand, I’d like the possibility to install a magnet later. So, the magnet hole can be handy (even to fill it with GITD powder and epoxy or resin).
And the sames goes for the trit slot.

This means that if I was going to answer the poll it would be a double “I don’t care”!
This is not a personal justification, only a way to interpret the answers (maybe other members felt the same too)!

The proposed design - in which magnet hole and trit slot have place - seems to be a very good option that combines the 4 “needed” things: lanyard/keyring hole, magnet hole, tritium vial slot, tailstading capability!

TheShadowGuy, djozz and iamlucky13, thank you for your work so far!

I know that whatever the final decision is it will be good, even knowing that it will not please all the interested people here!
I just want to have those “built like tanks and almost bullet proof” flashlights on my hands

No, let the slot in. You don’t win anything leaving it out, you need the lenght anyway because of the magnet.

I voted with I don’t care, but let it in it doesn’t harm.

Trit slot is easy to fill in, same for magnet hole - does no harm

Good morning! Here are the results from the survey:

The overall victor is the Noir/Djozz tail, including both the trit and magnet holes.

28 respondents voted for the N/D tail as their top choice. The next highest was the Olight tail at 10 respondents. The N/D tail also had the least 4th place finishes at 3, while the Olight tail had the most fourth place finishes at 17.

21 respondents liked the N/D tail as-is, including both holes. 10 would prefer no holes, 2 no trit, 1 no magnet hole, 1 wants another tail if holes are removed, and 11 don’t care.

As far as other comments go:

There were other comments as well expressing opinions on holes, as well as another person mentioning that magnets aren’t great for keychains.

Sounds good to me. I’m please with the tail design. Thanks to all who have contributed to this project so far!

Thanks TheShadowGuy for the poll, the results and the discussion.

LOL, it is not easy to integrate those two surveys, for correct interpretation it is even relevant how many people have filled in both surveys, this overlap is unknown. At least it is clear that the magnet hole is there to stay and there is no grand winner in wether to keep the trit-hole or not.

I’m tempted to (mis-?)use the confusion to my own advantage and ask Sofirn to keep both holes. Keeping the design as is is also the easiest story for them.

Anyone with great objections to this blatant mis-use of democracy?

Democracy (mob rule) is overrated…

djozz/noir design all the way!

Go for it

Democracy is overrated ;) , I hereby declare my brainchild to be the victor :CROWN: .

Kidding aside the polls do seem to suggest that the majority support, or at least will be ok with the design (with both the magnet hole and the trit slot). This is of course also the most flexible option.

And since it is completely impossible to please everybody at the same time, I think it is best to just go ahead with this design.

I agree. May the Schwartz be with you.

Could you please add me to the list for Qty-2

Thanks!

Which flavor? 3200k or 5600k?

Yes! Let the fabrication begin! Or as the King once said, “A little less conversation, a little more action!”
