Neal and my main contact at Lumintop want to get these issues taken care of but the Boss at lumintop keeps vetoing the decision for basically the reasons that Jason said, they made so little off the GB he does not want to loose any more money on it.
I keep trying to explain that it is a loosing proposition long term but I just get met with silence. Neal (even though he is not officially working on this anymore) and my contact have not given up but there is just not a lot they can do when the boss says no.
Far as holding the GT70 hostage, lets just say that could backfire and cause lumintop to write us off entirely and that would spread through the flashlight world and would be very bad for future dealings from more then just lumintop. On top of that it could mean that none of these things ever have a shot at being fixed. Things like this can be taken very badly in China so it must be approached extremely gently.
I will keep pushing this up the ladder, hopefully things happen.
It really is up to Lumintop to fix the issues, the Team can only do so much.
I sent Leo 2 or 3 PM and emails and have not heard from him at all.
Texas_Ace told me Leo would like to get it sorted, but the Lumintop boss refuses to let him spend any more money.
There was even a Lumintop employee who gave back a GT refund instead of just a battery refund and they had to pay it back out of their own salary. (The recipient kept the money and dissappeared instead of returning it)
Neal is not in charge of the GT issues anymore, but I’ve heard he is still trying to sort out a few.
Bruno28 got offered a replacement reflector, but he needed to pay $40 to ship it. That’s no good.
Northcentralpositronics replacement tail cap got lost in shipping, they are sending a new one. I guess it’s a very cheap part to ship.
So gigles team are involved with gt70 project and no one solved the problems.
Just great job giggles team!
I think you are very happy. Some people lost their money but who cares! Lets do some other bussiness with lm…
You want me to fly to China and whip the Lumintop bosses #$$ until he forks over the parts or gives refunds?
Don’t blame me or the team for something the boss over there did.
On the GT70, TA asked me if I would help out. I’m not a fan of Lumintop at the moment, but I don’t mind helping TA out.
1750 folks got their lights at a great price. 11 did not. To the boss at Lumintop this is acceptable. To me, TA, Neal and everyone else, this is terrible. There is not much we/I can do about it, though.
Edit: Never mind, was just my opinion and I’ve heard we all have one.
So Go Team Giggles, I am so very proud of our Team no matter what.
Thank you for everything you have done for all of us.
A Thankless job as it appears.
10 people might buy a BLF GT directly from Lumintop, while Banggood will probably buy 100+ of them directly. Shipping costs and the economy of scale help the price go down by quite a bit.
Yes I realized that TA after I made my comment, AS usual, so that’s why I edited it out,
I don’t want to start any confusion or have others upset or feeling ripped off or something other.
I generally try to keep my opinions to myself, but I slipped up… Sorry and thank you for the explanation, makes perfect sense.
Edit: My two favorite buttons are delete and edit, oh and Log Out, Have a wonderful evening all…
Yep, that is indeed another factor. Banggood generally orders in multiples of 500-1000 is what I have heard, although on larger things like this 100-250 is a reasonable guess.
No problem, most people are not aware of the back end side of retail and things like that (prices being higher at lumintop direct vs banggood) are easy to mis-understand.
