Thanks TA, I went back and reread the email with the code so please disregard, and regarding the cells, yes your thought was my thought exactly so thought I’d just send a message to the fella who sent me the CW notice and asked him about what happens for the NW’s but your formal inquiry would be much better for all of us.
I can barely read an email that clearly says $220 with a discount code even, so whatever Leo tells me about cells for the NW’s will probably get translated here backwards.
Thanks for insight on those switches, I didn’t know that, so the conversion kit is very important, and the reflector.
Have a wonderful day
How much was the new lights supposed to cost?
I’m seeing $325 and somewhere I read it was $200 something? Are they refunding the differences.?
I sent an email to Leo asking him about those of us who are waiting for the NW lights to be ready to ship and if buying the 30Q cells now and having them hold them until the NW’s are ready to ship is the right way to do this or is there going to be cells available just for the NW lights.?
Hard to beat $43 for 8 30Q’s.
Thanks
Gary
Oh ya, one more suggestion for the wish list of parts, how about switches, I’m forever getting lights that the switch eventually fails on me and finding the proper replacement can be impossible at times .
Some time ago i was able to buy 4 Samsung 30Q's for $23 Australian on Banggood, so i ended up buying 32 of them & ive never seen them as cheep again since. About $16 USD.
The GT70 is definitely more bang for your buck in terms of price. It should have a larger hot spot than the other light.
The GTvnV2 seems like you’d need to use binoculars to use it’s full range. It has a bit smaller hot spot than GT70.
Personally I’d get the GT70 to try it out since it’s so much cheaper. If you try it out and still think you need more distance and aren’t finicky about the exact color of the beam, you can slice the dome off and gain another 400 to 500 meters.
If that’s still not enough distance for you, I’m sure you could sell the GT70 and then get the GTvnV2.
If I look at the distance the sliced dome version GT70 has, which is about 2000 meters, your paying 3 times the price for 40% more distance with the GTvnX2.
I’m holding out for the NW and will probably get any extra parts offered. I know the majority of people here want the NW. Just want to make sure we will all get one even if more people than planned order the CW. Or people order more CW than they committed too. Cheers.
Yep, that was what happened. Banggood made a mistake with the listing at first. They have raised the price to $275 now but lumintop said it should not be that low (this is pretty common for banggood to list items too cheap and has hurt a lot of manufactures over the years). We will see what the final price ends up being, I was told $300-325 was the retail price they were planning on.
The shipping will indeed be much cheaper from Banggood as they get subsidized shipping from the China government and lumintop does not.
