Acebeam X70 - 40000 lm - 8*18650 - Active fan cooling

That is a completely different type of light. It’s low powered, long range and only lasts for 2, maybe 3 minutes. No one interested in the X70 would consider the TN42vn as an alternative. Sorry.

Your right,It is completely different. Your wrong that it[TN42vn 90] only lasts for 2 or 3 minutes! It maintains awesome out put for more than 30 minutes!

It is more like the Flood monsters can last only 2 or 3 minutes,I do not care what kind of fan you use.How long are you going to maintain 40K lumens? 30 seconds?

That TN42VN can run turbo 30 minutes and not overheat? Wow, I don’t think it could.

The X70 could possibly maintain its 40k lumen for 30+ minutes. It depends on the effectiveness of the cooling system.

If not 40k lumen, then 25k to 30k lumen continous is definitely a possibility.

It loses output though because of direct drive. So the power and heat are also reduced continously.

I should have been more descriptive.

I can run it for 15 straight minutes in 75F/23.8C to 80F/26.6C outdoor temps. then I put on Low for 2 or 3 minutes, then bump it back up. Once the fall and winter comes I will be able to use it 30M straight w/ no problem. The light has 3 modes. L-M-H. Low is equivalent to the U21vn[~1600L/260Kcd],that is by eye!

V54 said the driver he and Richard used has thermal step down and is set very high and is located inside the head of the light. I do not know how all this electronic stuff works. I can tell you, from a visual stand point I can not tell any difference from turn on to putting on Low after 15 minutes. I also can not notice any reduction in output once the light has accumulated 25 or 30 minutes of max output.

It is very costly. I sold my TK75vn Quad to my Buddy and now I am selling my TK61vn V4[Not many made] to my same buddy. For people who love throw[I know this is not the thread] and very impressive lumens, this light w/ the CFT-90 is unbelievable.

Finally, I compared my TK61vn V4[1800L/750Kcd] with it on the trail last night for about 5 seconds. That is when I decided to sell V4! The TN42 blew it away, as it should.TN42vn 90 has 3X the lumens and ~540Y/493M more throw and at least double the size hot spot!

The only advantage V4 has it a little more run time and it NEVER gets hot,I have run it 45 minutes on turbo in the summer!

I didn’t think the TN42VN used direct drive. Does it? I though Richard built a special buck driver for it.

It’s not direct driven

TN42vn90 with RMM driver… http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?442055-TN42vn90

Richard’s RMM Buck Boost driver http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?449728-BLF-GTvn-V2-2Mcd-Throw-King-(August-2018)

I am most certain that my driver/light is improved and tweaked from that first link you provided. That was 9 months ago and was for the Prototype, not the ones that he sold.

The second link is obviously for the BLF-GTvn and NOT my light.

In regards to the run times I am able to achieve. There is one thing that you guys have not considered! Simply because you would have no way of knowing!

That is the fact that I have LEATHER hands!

This is for Summertime use. The average Joe would be turning this light down in 3 or 4 minutes. Your average flashaholic may run it for 5 to 7 minutes. Then there is me with my 5 years of experience with V54 lights and being a turbo freak who can run it up to 15 minutes on turbo, sometimes switching hands along with a few other secrets!

The reason I thought it would only last for 3 minutes was due to it drawing 70 watts. That’s enough for even a fairly big light to get pretty hot. In stock form it only draws maybe 25W.

Can’t you rack off to the other forum if all you’re gonna do here is gloat about the overpriced V54 lights you’ve purchased? Talk about your V54 lights with people that care.

thats weird, if the light is gonna produce more then 40k since rumors say boosted to 53k, how come the distance gets shorter? that makes no sense to me… good about the price drop tho…

They still say built in fan-cooling system so they havent ditched it then i guess?

Where did you hear this? Are you maybe confusing it with the Imalent MS12 which is rated at 53,000 lumen? The MS12 is using 20700 cells to get the extra output. The X70 is still using 18650 cells so I don’t see how it can just gain another 13,000 lumen. I’d say that’s a false rumor.

My X80 broke in 2 weeks, my X45vn was DOA, all my Imalents are still 100%.

A big poll on Facebook had Olight and Acebeam with far more failures than Imalent (Olight having far more than Acebeam). Which is surprising as Imalent mainly deal in budget priced mould breaking powerhouses.

Fair enough Olight probably out sell their competition considerably, but there wasn’t many Thrunite/Nitecore failures reported either and they have to be up there for sales.

someone wrote here IIRC that its gonna get boosted… but who knows… if not then imalent is the lumen kings for now if that light can deliver

I can’t help thinking ThruNite are gonna launch an attack on the throw and flood records, it seems a long time since the TN36 and TN42 ruled the roost.

I do it because I can and its entertaining to see how it irritates you so much!

V54 lights smoke and Vinh doesn’t give a toss about his customers hence always telling them to stay on topic.

There’s no need for this.

You also might get some rude points since it does seem like a pretty rude thing to say.
