teacher: toddcshoe:Looks and sounds like a winner. The only reason I picked up the SD4A was Amazon had it on sale for $25 and some change. I might grab that SF11 too. Hard to pass up for $20.
About the same here…. But I am gonna find $20 impossible to pass up for the SF11. :person_facepalming: …

That’s a good idea!! Thanks for the tip. . :+1:
Batch1: toddcshoe:Can’t speak for the other lights but I really like the SD4A. I like the dual button operation and the direct access to moon mode from off. I agree with saypat though, watch some videos of all the lights, great decision making material there.
With the SF11 you also have direct access to moon mode from off by holding the switch one second, if you do a fast switch you go to last mode (has memory). Robert

$25 is a real bargain for the SD4A. Cheapest I could find today was $35.90 as a next week sale price on Aliexpress.

Not 100% sure, but I think by adding it to the cart, we get the sale price as well as not losing out if it sells out
Have they corrected the problems from the earlier versions of the SF11? These were around mid 2017.
What problems did they have?

Thanks. Read the whole thread and should be fine as the SF11 is being sold at their official store on Ali.
Thrunite TN4A is a good choice, or with double aa/14500 Manker MK41 is the best choice for me.
The MK41 is a nice looking light but a little pricey. It looks like it's all throw and was looking for flood and throw.

And the moonlight is adjustable from 0.1 to 5 lm, the turbo is also adjustable.

I did not find a 4 X AA flashlight that is not a thrower.
I put DC-Fix on mine

Personally, if I were to mod the light, I would either be putting in a Samsung LH351D 90CRI for more flood, slightly more regulated runtime, and way way better color quality or a Nichia 219C if the other one was not available.

I couldn't find a 4 X AA that wasn't a thrower either. Then I might as go with the cheapest one which is the SF11. Still looks like a great little light.

If I chose the LH351D 90CRI, would it be as simple as getting it with a star and just soldering the two wires on it or is there more to it than that?
No, unfortunately.
This is why I specified the 219C if the LH351D was not available for your purpose.
I will do some research then to see if I can do a mod like that with the LH351D. Would be nice to have a really special AA light in my collection.
Sorry, but I also forgot one thing.
Kaidomain does sell an SST-20 4000k R9080 LED with a 20mm MCPCB, so you should be able to swap it right out of the SF11.

DC-Fix made my SD4A super nice. I don’t have a before beam shot but I have a after if anyone wants it. Yes it was pretty throwy out of the box. DC-Fix gives it plenty more flood and still retains some of it’s throw.

I'd be interested in the after thanks. That DC fix, does the film just glue on the lens? I was always a little hesitant gluing something on one of my lens.

Great, I will search for it and give it a try as I have two SF11's in my cart and will mod one of them to see how it looks.
