Clone of On The Road M3 ~$13

Is this light just a roche F6 ?

Nope, completely different.

VW, can you expand on the charger. Did you hardwire the connector to the light or did you just slide the connector into the micro usb port and use silicone to seal it?

I was thinking of this:

It looks like you cut away the aluminum around the port to make it fit. Since the connector is steel, could you just grind the top of the connector so it will plug in or would the cable not fit to it properly?

folomov EDC-C3 does that - the head has the USB jack, you can take it off the body and it will run from USB.
Though the usb supply you use may limit max output…

also it is kind of expensive. but it can also function as a power bank, with a special cable that it comes with.

My review of this light is done if anyone is interested.

.

Received my Jaxmnve M3 today . Cool little light. Any suggestions as to how to unscrew the bezel . A couple of specks of dirt on the emitter and gasket I’d like to clean up. Must unscrew as they include a spare lens and o ring . Other wise all good. Warm tint. Usb charging , 16340 cell , clip and lanyard all for $13.60. Might share duty as pocket work light with my Sofirn SP10. Oh , magnetic tail cap also.

Never mind about the bezel. Got it off with a rubber band.

I think what makes it worse is On The Road got the UI so right for their M3 & U16, it makes the jaxmnve that much worse.

I will keep mine for $9 but I wouldn’t recommend the jaxmnve over OTR’s new M3 pro.

He used this cable with round connector:
Detachable Magnetic Charging Cable Lightning Type-C Micro USB 3-in-1 Charger Cable with Indicator LED Light
Tore into the USB C connector and soldered wires to the back.

Ooooo, thanks for the heads up on the new M3 pro. I stopped carrying the M3 due to no built in charging. I tried the U16, but it’s too big and heavy so I carry the M3 clone.

Now I’m gonna have to get the M3 pro. I still don’t like the press and hold on/off, but at least it’s consistent.

I could probably fit a round magnetic adapter to the M3 pro to make charging easier.

Freeme’s thread on the M3 pro.

I saw the M3 pro for $15 yesterday from one of the affiliates.

Edit: oops, was the U16 that was $15.

That’s a real good price. I bought 2 of the U16 when they first came out for $20 each. I’ve never seen them get back down to the $20 range since then. Unfortunately, they weigh twice as much as the M3 and are bulkier as well so they are just sitting on the shelf collecting dust.

The Jaxmnve m3 is no longer in their store.

They may be out of stock at the moment.

Got mine today, black with new UI. Warm white is warmer than XML2 4C, may be near 4000k. Standby current is only 0.5µA, lowest current I have seen ever.

I like mine . Hope they bring it back.Gone from site still.

u got link?

No link, as said earlier, it’s not on their site right now. Here is a link to the store, though. Jaxmnve store

Frankly, I think I’d rather have the real OTR M3 Pro because it’s UI is so much better. It’s about $25, so roughly double what the clone costs.

I didn’t have high expectations when I ordered mine but I find myself using it often . UI is not terrible. If you turn it off on high, it will memorize that level but if you short click it while off, you can cycle the modes while off . Thus a short press then a long would get you low. 2 short clicks then a long will get you med. A single long click will get you high. Kind of cool. Mine has perfect charging and the LVW works (no LVP).For it’s size, it puts out a decent amount of light. Run times are short though, to be expected with 16340 cell provided.I paid under $10 for it so I give it some slack.

The lack of any true low mode is what bothered me most. I would use the ramping and try to click on the lowest level I could. Then leave it there. :stuck_out_tongue:

I figured you were one of those guys that value low very much. I need all the light I can get due to retina problem so high and med. are important to me. Just a cute little light overall. I learned something the other day when I set it down on my laptop magnet side down. Don’t do this as the screen went out. Thankfully it turned back on after removing it and turning it on again. The magnetic field affected something inside.
